Good lord, Steve Howe looks like the Cryptkeeper!

I will end up seeing a grand total of four reunion shows this year:

Swervedriver (saw last month)
Polvo (September)
My Bloody Valentine (September)
Original lineup of Lynyrd Skynyrd (need more shovels)

The Yes reunion tour has been canceled. Jon Anderson has apparently developed a serious respiratory problem.

/the reunion concert of the summer is Return to Forever. Had 3rd row orchestra pit last night. Stellar.

I have to wait a couple of months, but at least they're coming out this far. Plus, they're playing a very cool venue.

Saw these guys 5 days ago. My 7th time in 20 years & they have never NOT given a 100% kick-arse show.

z.about.com

They do not belong on this list as they never stopped recording or touring.

I Like Bread 2008-06-18 04:19:52 PM
1) Yes technically didn't regroup. Although Wakeman came back recently, the band has been constantly touring and recording for the last 40 years.

2) Remind me to check out tickets for Heart and King Crimson.

3) Got my Genesis Reunion DVD the other day. It rocks.

SnoMan 2008-06-18 04:52:03 PM
GREEN JELLY is doing their first tour in 9 years over this summer.

Saw them last night and I went from "eh.." to "ok...kinda cool" to "THIS IS FARKING AWESOME!!"

Go see those guys if they come near you...it's different

Howe can Yes and Asia be touring simultaneouly?

mcongraff: Howe can Yes and Asia be touring simultaneouly?

Steve will need a break from Wetton with someone who can sing on-key.

mcongraff: Howe can Yes and Asia be touring simultaneouly?

The ASIA tour was supposed end in time for Steve to rehearse the YES tour.

According to a JA tech friend of mine Jon is home and resting.

Keep your eyes open for CIRCA going out on tour since YES isn't.

If you had put into the headline the fact that My Bloody Valentine was one of the bands, there'd be a lot more comments in this thread.

My eardrums havent' recovered from the MBV show I saw over 15 years ago.

mahavishnunj: was rtf even mentioned in this article?

Of course not. That would require the author to have some depth of taste.

You're going to love the show no matter where you sit. Chick comes out and says that they're still figuring it out. I think they've got it down pretty good after that long a hiatus. It's funny, though, I almost prefer to see them separately. Never miss a chance to see Al or Stanley solo.

New album, too.

Awesome! I've seen them every tour since GUP, in 1984. Agreed with you, they give 100% every show, every tour.

Meh.

/going to see The Meatmen on Friday

AgentOrangeDrink 2008-06-18 09:12:06 PM
Stone Temple Pilots, Heart, Asia, Motley Crue, Night Ranger, Yes, Yaz, My Bloody Valentine, Candlebox and Sweet. Other than Sweet and MBV, all godawful dogsh*t bands. And no mention of The Jesus and Mary Chain, without whom there would probably be no MBV, and who I'm seeing next month. Whoever wrote this list deserves to have every member of those sh*tty bands mentioned cum inside them.

still waiting for someone to put a funny headline to THIS

FTFA: "this second-rate '90s grunge band."

Rarely is a description so spot on.

I just saw Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman in Kansas City last Friday. Absolutely incredible! Burton's voice sounds great and
Randy can still shred the BTO tunes. Go see them if you get a chance.

Candlebox is far and away the absolute worst live band I've ever heard. They replaced Alice in Chains opening for Metallica back in 1993 (94?) when Layne went back into rehab. Maybe it was just the disappointment of not seeing AiC, but these guys were beyond awful. Ended up getting booed off the stage after the singer told the audience they were a bunch of "farking dicks". You couldn't pay me enough to see those clowns again.

atlanta. the seats might not be that bad, its really hard to tell from the seating chart. the 4 hour drive however is going to suck.

What, no love for Yaz?

BTW, I had to buy tickets for that shiat-ass band Candlebox just to see The Flaming Lips on their "Transmissions From The Satellite Heart" tour. What was worse was the insult if FL having to OPEN for that steaming pile of quasi-grunge pony loaf.

I saw The Tubes 5 years ago, and it was kinda embarrasing. The stuff Fee Waybill's antics and stage costumes might have been weird and groundbreaking in the 70's, but it was kinda sad to see him do it as an old man.
