I for one can't wait to totally ignore this new album.

I've been waiting for him to come up with something new for so long.

We are assuming he is broke because he's trying to come back after quiting the "music" industry. People usually do that when they run on of money.
/should have diversified his portfolio.

Harvey Birdman 2008-06-18 08:44:28 AM
But is he still pasty and bloated from staying inside and gorging on taco bell everyday?

What exactly does "out of money" mean? That he can no longer afford his entourage? That he can't continue making payments on a dozen cars? That he'll have to move into a smaller mansion? Because "out of money" means something entirely different to a multimillionaire than it does to someone like me who goes to work every day.

Say what you will but some of his work really is great. Not a big fan of his older stuff but the mature stuff contains some great tunes.

assuming he netted $100million dollars (which is completely reasonable) spent even half, giving him $50mil. in capitol. he still makes approximately $15k per day, in basic interest alone. Without even doing the math its pretty easy to see (unless he's completely 'tarded) their is no way in fark he's going broke.

I think he has some brilliant lyrics. Even some of the older stuff.

Good point, but I cant help but to think back to MC Hammer. He probably netted , in his prime, more than mnm. However, he was also supporting a bunch of lazy thugs in his entourage and went broke for his efforts. I cant help but to think that there's the same thing going on.

However, who cares. I am sure there's another white boy in the trailer park who is willing to act black to collect a few paychecks. So no loss.

You see, the underlying joke is that he retired from music because he no longer needed the income and was fatigued from his participation in the industry. A lack of income has caused him to renege on his retirement promise and attempt to revive his career.

I have to add my voice to those defending Eminem. He may not have made all the best choices, but the dude's done a bit of growing up across his albums, and even the immature stuff is fun to listen to. Besides. Who among us can say they never did anything stupid in their 20s?

/If Weird Al jumped at the chance to finally turn one of your songs into a parody, and the parody rocks as hard as the original, you might have put out something worthwhile.

Wow. Suck it all you haters. Eminem is a very talented guy, a real rags to riches story and he made it through hard work and talent.

AdolfOliverPanties [TotalFark] 2008-06-18 10:34:23 AM
Maybe he should quit while he's ahead. Hell, I think he should have stopped with the Marshall Mathers LP.

Once you have written something like

"so you can suck my dick if you don't like my shiat,
cuz I was high when I wrote this so suck my dick"

how can you expect to top it?

Have you ever heard a rapper who has trouble letting people know how hard he works and how talented he is? Silly me, I though that was the basic gist of every other rap song EVER MADE.

/Rap minus bragging equals a bunch of random noises and guys just moving their hands around.

Red Means Go 2008-06-18 10:44:09 AM
I doubt he's in any serious financial trouble. I just think his time could have been spent making new material instead of trying to put over some of the crappy talent that was on that Shady Records label. I'm no music industry expert though, especially in rap. I'll readily admit that I don't follow more than 2 rap and r&b artists at any one time. I just remember listening to some record he put out that was mostly talent he scouted out and how crappy it was.

What happened for the rest of the day is still a blur
But I remember wishing that I was dead, instead of her
She was buried on August 3rd
The story ends without a sequel
And now you know why Technique, don't farking fall in love with people
Hold the person that you love closely if they're next to you
The one you love, not the person that'll simply have sex with you
Appreciate them to the fullest extent, and then beyond
'Cause you never really know what you got, until it's gone

I don't think artists were grossing half that much $$ in the late 80's early 90's. Also, from what I understand MC Hammer is an extreme example of an individaul spending money. I mean seriously, even if you are to believe MC Hammer went broke and is living life on a budget, he's living well above the poverty line on residuals alone, (especially 20a later) not to have to cry poverty or have to retire on cat food and rice.

Said Superman had come to town to see who he could rock

He blew away every crew he faced until he reached our block

His speakers were three stories high with woofers made of steel

And when we boys sit outside, he said "I boom for real"

He said, "I'm faster than a speedin' bullet when I'm on the set

I don't need no fans to cool my ass, I just use my super breath

I could fly three times around the world without missin' a beat

I socialize with X-ray eyes, and ladies think it's sweet

And then he turned his power on and the ground began to move

And all the buildings for miles around were swayin' to the groove

And just when he had fooled the crowd and swore he won the fight

We rocked his boat with a 12 inch cut called Disco Kryptonite

Well, Superman looked up at me, he said, "You rock so naturally"

I said now that you've learned the deal, let me tell you why I'm so for real

I'm Cozmo D from outer space, I came to rock the human race

I do it right 'cause I can't do it wrong

That's why the whole world is singin' this song

THIS.

A lot of artists "retire" and come back a few years later because they just needed time to recharge and get the creative juices flowing again.

MentorLegion 2008-06-18 11:02:52 AM
Wow. That was fast. If I had MEANT to troll, I probably wouldn't have gotten such fast remarks.

I did say "every OTHER." As in "every other" alternative song is whiny and emo. As in "every other" classic rock song would be an instrumental without the words "yeah" and "baby."

/ 90%/10% rule invoked.

I like Eminem, but that's probably because I'm white.

Hip hop is never a problem in Harlem only in Boston after it bothers the fathers of daughters starting to blossom.
