Except for maybe posting a thread about it.

subshiatter doesn't know a great rock ballad when he hears it.

Did you say chocolate rain?

steveo 2008-06-17 05:21:51 PM
Yes, because there are certainly no bands performing today with ridiculously over-produced videos and stage shows. There are especially no emo bands from New York doing concept albums about gothy marching bands.

This... The solo at the end is awesome. Slash is a legend.

Takes long enough to get to it.

Judging from the headline, I'm guessing Tay Zonday is into his pretentious artsy stage.

Do all singers bend away from the mic when breathing?

I always thought the song sucked, but the solo was hot.

There is nothing wrong with narcissistic overblown productional windbaggery. It's just rock.

browntimmy 2008-06-17 08:06:17 PM
I'm not a big Guns n' Roses fan, but what I appreciate about them is that you can tell they were trying to write the best rock record of all time. It would be great if more musicians had that kind of ambition.

SU 2008-06-17 08:26:04 PM
Guns N' Roses rocked. You can claim, with some ground, that they were narcissistic, especially Axl, but most artists are. The difference is that GnR had genuine talent to back it up.

Valdes 2008-06-17 08:37:08 PM
Nothing says narcissistic overblown windbaggery like someone who probably can't even play guitar biatching about how"November Rain" sucks from the basement of his parent's house, the basement where he looks at dirty, dirty pictures of naked girls he will never be able to touch due to lack of social skills and personal hygiene, girls that Slash would has discarded hundreds of times over in the hedonistic paradise that is Slash's life.

/sorry, pet peeve

Also, still not emo.

darkjezter 2008-06-17 09:06:49 PM
I love Slash's guitar solo in November Rain. It makes me want to learn how to play electric guitar.

Also, I'd hit Stephanie Seymour like the fist of an angry god slamming a screen door in a hurricane.

And if they had half the talent GnR had they may actually be listenable.

what the hell is all this shiat about pretention? guns n roses rocked for a brief period in the late 80s and early 90s and there is no denying it. they pretended nothing.

I don't mind big overblown productions as long as they're good. The problem is this band sucks.

/and I'm not saying Slash can't play; he can absolutely wail
//I'm saying the band sucks

Here I thought it was that song.."I used to love her but I had to kill her"...

KarlMaldensNose 2008-06-17 11:25:50 PM
Good song but damn I got tired of it by the 5000th I heard it on rock radio or pop radio or saw it on MTV as a teenager, to the point where I still can't listen to the song.

/would hit Stephanie Seymour like a farking Mack truck

I was totally expecting a rick-roll, but that was actually really good.

Thank you.

I think a real string section would've been much better than a cheesy synth-string.

Gangway Fathead 2008-06-18 12:13:16 AM
What's with the MCR bashing? How does that even come up in a GnR thread?

Already Disturbed 2008-06-18 12:16:13 AM
I said it in another thread, but I'll repeat it here - I like their overblown epics.

madden101 2008-06-18 12:41:47 AM
I've tried and tried, but I can never really get into GnR. I like a couple of their songs okay, but I just flip the station whenever the likes of "Welcome to the Jungle" & "Paradise City" come on the radio.

Hopefully Axl got paid for every last split-second he was on-camera here.

You mean like this?(pops)

Guns N' Roses, their touring backing band, Sir Elton John, along with the late Michael Kamen and the Rock & Roll Orchestra. MTV Video Music Awards 1992. Man, fark Lil' John, Axl was drinking from a goblet way back then. Poseur.

Almost 101% positive that that is not a demo version, but was actually recorded on the Use Your Illusion tour.

What story was that based on? Can someone who knows it break it down for me? I don't wanna read too much.

I am giddily proud to say I've never seen more than the "touching" ending.

Screw that song, and screw Axl Rose.

I think Slash is a farking a__hole. He dissed Mitch Mitchell at an awards show. That pissed me off.
