Resisting a merchant? Is that new? I don't think I ever heard that one before. Must be a Florida original.

Brings in a backpack? What a maroon.

I used to steal meat and shrimp because you get 50% of the face value, on the street. But never bring a large bag into the store, because that's what they're looking for.

Better to bring in some empty bags from that store and fill them up, walk out with confidence. Or walk out the IN door if possible.

No doubt it's a bit more difficult nowadays, as security catches onto all the tricks.

Paul Pierce is robbing Wal-Marts?

black_knight 2008-06-15 01:19:50 PM
Robbery is when you use force to steal something.
Larceny is stealing shiat without the use of force.
Burglary is breaking into someone's home or a business and intending to commit any crime (even "public lewdness").

But, hey, the media's known for its lack of facts. :)

davynelson: Brings in a backpack? What a maroon.

Some people actually legitimately bring in backpacks, especially if riding a bike or if they're college students that don't have a car and stop to get a few things after getting off the bus.

Granted, you should still be aware of people wearing backpacks as not everyone is honest.

davynelson 2008-06-15 02:11:38 PM

Oh I'm with you there, 47 is the new 42, I bicycle and bring my backpack everywhere.

I just laugh when the security guy follows me around, because I know he's wasting his time while someone else is probably stealing shiit.

/don't steal no more
