MUSE should do it, it would be so great, Matt Bellamy has got a good bond theme song voice.

If unfolding train wreck meant I was getting $2m for playing 45 minutes for some russians, I would take the crack addiction and sharp knees.

Amy is a dog-faced pig. I throw up in my mouth a little every time I see her.

I was hoping that with a name like "Quantum of Solace", the theme would be sung by They Might Be Giants.

Where'd the tattoo on her right arm go?

What rhymes with "Quantum of Solace"? Anyway, besides "The World is Not Enough", which is the best, the best Bond songs are sung by dudes. "Tomorow Never Dies" was pretty good.

I don't know if I agree with that. It would be more 50/50 in my view, but I guess that begs the question of what you consider the "best Bond songs". Are you looking for songs that are good and have standalone value when removed from the context of James Bond? In that case something like Live and Let Die, Living Daylights, and Casino Royale are probably the best, and those are all male performers.

On the other hand, when you hear the opening seconds of Goldfinger, it's unmistakable. Same thing with Diamonds are Forever. In both of these cases the music was tied in more with the movie itself and the rest of the score/theme.

This is very much true.

Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
Goldeneye - Tina Turner
Tomorrow Never Dies - Sheryl Crow
The World Is Not Enough - Shirley Manson
Diamonds Are Forever - Shirley Bassey
Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon
For Your Eyes Only - Sheena Easton
You Only Live Twice - Nancy Sinatra
The Man With The Golden Gun - LuLu
Moonraker - Shirley Bassey
License To Kill - Gladys Knight
All Time High - Rita Coolidge

These are all the female songs and they represent the quintessential Bond feeling, either in lyrics or tunes. BTW, seems to be that if you're a female singer and you're name starts with SH then you're almost guaranteed to perform a Bond song, heh.

Now compare that list to this one:

Thunderball - Tom Jones
A View To a Kill - Duran Duran
We Have All The Time In The World - Louis Armstrong
Live and Let Die - Paul McCartney
The Living Daylights - A-Ha
From Russia With Love - Matt Monroe
You Know My Name - Chris Cornell

These are the male songs and they tend to deviate from the Bond feeling and become awesome in their own right, rather than being associated with the movies.

Well, I'll agree that "The-Wolrd Is Not Enough" and "Tomorrow Never Dies" are the best Bond songs, there are a few written-by guys that are good.

the only thing good about "Die Another Day" was the video where Madonna was beating the sh*t out of and killing herself.
