In other words:

"Media bias against Clinton is alright, since we don't like her"

I don't like what Russert did to the Clinton campaign with his bias. Russert's only better than Matthews because Matthews has an obvious problem with women in general.

Suicidal Writer 2008-06-14 10:12:04 PM
Clinton supporters pointed out the bias against her, often gender-based, a long time ago, and it's why some are refusing to vote for the Democrat nominee.

If you want to improve your (currently incredibly poor) trolling, you've got to drop the "Democrat". Nobody except for rabid right-wingers uses that terminology.

However, I'm beginning to suspect you're actually just an attention whore rather than a concern troll. In which case, keep using "Democrat".

I dunno, I'm still pretty sure she had him killed.

Look at the screencap I took:

Pretty convenient time for Ms. "pay attention to meeeeeeeeeeeeee" to disappear.

big_pth [TotalFark] 2008-06-14 10:19:02 PM
I am sure it was the "bias" that forced her campaign to spend like a drunken sailor before Super Tuesday. I am sure it was because she is a woman that her campaign didn't seem to realize that the states were not winner take all. I am sure it was sexism that forced her to act like a snarly schizo who was proud to be on stage with obama one day, and the next calling him out like a gunfighter in the street. It was pure sexism on all of those things.

Oh I'm sure that Hillary was quite pleased to see Russert out of the way, but that's about the extent of it.

Admin, I will not be polite... Karma baby that is all I will say, first Kennedy and his brain tumor, then the flooding in Iowa and now Russert... Obamatrons beware the wrath of God, you could be next

# filbertsf Says:

I'm beginning to think Obama is a curse. Notice what happens to the states that BO wins and the people who pimped for him.

# JAS Says:

In regards to Tim Russert, when you carrie as much hate as he did for Hillary, it is bound to take a negative effect on ones body. It is sad, yet......

# S Says:

I am listening to all the networks and their news people talk about Tim R and they are all pouring out such compassion and emotion and I cannot help but think why could all these people have not one tenth, one pinch of that compassion and kindness for Hill and Bill Clinton...

why can't any of these people have a tiny bit of empathy or understanding for the pain they have caused the Clinton family...the insults, the innuendo, the lies, the making up of stuff to create a scandal, the distortions, every attempt to embarrass them...why can't all these people that are now so sensitive and so hurting have any idea how much pain they have all collectively dumped on the Clintons from morning to night nonstop day after day...

yeah, but i'm not 'prominent' by any stretch of the imagination. At best, 20 people or so actually pay attention to anything I might have to say about anything. Although being on Hillary's enemies list would rather make my day. I'd consider that quite an achievement.

Did you miss the thread the other day that turned into "what if Weaver95 was here?" I don't have a link, but it was one of the Hillary concession threads. You've become something of a celebrity around the Fark political threads. Though you're right, that's really not much more that 20 people, if you count Alts.

Because republicans have been accusing the media of being against them for 30 years. That's why they never win any elections.

I'll pay for it. I'd like a synopsis of favored candidates from you, ShaggyC, McCainDemocrat, Suicidal Writer, one farker chosen by you and Shaggy, and one Chosen by the McCainDemocrat and Suicidal Writer (entire discussion for choice must be public). You each get to make three (3) ennumerated talking points for why your candidate should have the Presidency, and one (1) and only one point that you feel should eliminate (or seriously detriment) your candidate's opponent from the running.

I'll pay two months of TF for each of the above folks.

Their anti-Obama sentiment is a separate issue: Obama took what was "rightfully" hers.

Oh, and if you can get Fark to host it, we could vote enable the debate and I'll pay to extend the two months to a year for the debater whose post garners the most votes. I'm aware Fark as a populace seems to favor Obama. So the year promise will be extended to ANY Farker who garners the votes in the debate that follows.

At 6 farkers for 2 months and a possible 12 months for someone else, I see this as up to a $100 value (and at least $90), from me alone.

/also, if you've got a commonly used summon card, I'm open to offering the same deal to you, if you want in, so long as you abide by the same rules.

My favorite part? On the two articles that mention Russert on the main page, they claim to be trying to restrain themselves and be polite.

Apparently Obama supporters and those wishing to ingratiate themselves to those incense burners are unhappy with our show of great restraint and politeness yesterday.

Take a look at the bottom of those posts, at what category they decided to post their polite, restrained messages in.

No, it's no accident. Somewhere down the line within the past couple years or so, that somehow became perceived as a clever, snarky way to refer to them among those of a certain ilk. But, for all I know, it originated with some gaffe by Bush, so if that's true, then technically you're right. For myself, I pretty much just see it as code for "ignore everything I'm about to say."

I believe the intent is to paint Democrats as being opposed to democracy. By saying that they are the Democrat Party and not the Democratic Party, they attempt to semantically distance the membership from people who are for democracy; which, ironically enough, would be called... democrats.

Republicans get to keep their monkier, though, because they're such big fans of the People's Republic of China.

Russert was a img1.fark.net.

22 or something debates, and he was the only moderator who stayed on task and asked not just actual questions but *followed up*, so the politicians didn't weasel their grubby way out of a response. The man had some stones.

Not quite, as I understand it. From what I've heard, the GOP did some poll-testing and found that calling the Democratic Party the Democrat Party got a better rating.

Basically, Americans has a stronger emotional response to "Democratic" than "Democrat". Don't ask me why.

The nation will miss Russert. He was the *ONLY* journalist with the guts for an exchange like this... Jan 13, 2008.

MR. RUSSERT: You say you've been deeply involved in the eight years of the Clinton administration. One of the powers given to a president is the power of pardon. At the end of the president's second term, he granted 140 pardons, including one to Marc Rich, someone who had been convicted of tax evasion, fraud and making illegal oil deals with Iran. Were you involved in that pardon?

SEN. CLINTON: No. I didn't know anything about that.

MR. RUSSERT: No one talked to you whatsoever?

SEN. CLINTON: No. No. Unh-unh.

MR. RUSSERT: His ex-wife gave $109,000 to your campaign.

SEN. CLINTON: Well, no one talked to me about it, Tim.

MR. RUSSERT: Nobody?

SEN. CLINTON: Nobody.

MR. RUSSERT: Your two brothers proposed people for pardons and you were paid money. One brother, you asked to give the money back.

SEN. CLINTON: That's right. That's right.

MR. RUSSERT: Were you aware your brothers were involved?

SEN. CLINTON: No, I was not.
