He's go a whole week of fixing past mistakes planned. Tomorrow he's going to ask the Texas Rangers to win a World Series; Tuesday he's going to get on his oil company about making a profit; Friday afternoon has been set aside for him to serve his country in the Vietnam war.

there is nothing left that could possibly happen that could keep Bush's presidency from being an utter failure.

Is he still president?

It would be nice if they found him even if it did help Bush's presidental legacy.

Yeah, this farker needs to burn. Bush's legacy won't be effected by finding him, he still will be the most disastrous president in US history.

They will 'find' Osama right before Bush leaves office, and then will shift the credit to McCain somehow to get more votes. Didn't they find Saddam near the 2004 election?

I think.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Couldn't you just picture Bush repeatedly stabbing him in the throat while sobbing, "you NEVER used enough LUBE jabbing your HAND in MY ASS for all those briefings!" *jabjabjab* "YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU LOVED MEEEEEE"

shiat, I'd Tivo that.

The only people to complain about the capture of Saddam were:

1. The Palestinians - Understandibly. Saddam was funneling money to them.
2. Belgium - I still can't figure that one out.
3. The Democrats - 'natch. Made Bush look good.

Pay no attention to the fact our odds of having bin Laden in our hands would've been much greater had resources not been diverted to a certain country just down the block.

mctom 2008-06-15 06:44:22 AM
Too late, asshole.

Best part is, even if they got Bin Laden and he rebuilt every brick of the WTC, it still wouldn't make McCain presidential.

If you ride an elephant to work, you're gonna be out of a job in '09. Period.

He won't get Bin Laden, but not because he isn't trying. The people who think he's hiding out in a cave somewhere are ignorant. With his wealth and connections its almost assured that he's being sheltered somewhere by someone.... maybe even a rogue government.

Exactly. Oil pimps don't like discomfort, and there are plenty of people who will hide him.

/plus, no one is looking in saudi arabia where everyone else goes-- Idi Amin lived out his life there, no doubt bush and cheney will too.

There are two things that would help ensure a McCain presidency:

"Find" Osama bin Laden

A "terrorist" attack

Keep your eyes open.

Dr.Zom:

STILL wouldn't help McCain. As with everything else, Obama would find a way to turn it around and win the day. Just look at the midwest floods-- while McCain is blathering about praying for the victims, Obama is re-directing his supporters to the midwest, both in donations and volunteer support. AND he goes down there himself to help out. After all the bullshiat of the last 8 years, people will remember Bush playing the guitar during Katrina (and eating cake w/ mccain) and Obama grabbing a shovel for these floods.

/that's not to say that my eyes aren't open. I'm sure they've got SOMETHING up their sleeve.
//Which reminds me, I think the republicans are going to try to replace McCain with someone else in the near future, as they see how pitiful his campaign really is. Just a hunch.

I wouldn't be.

Why the attention to this now, Mr. Bush?
In your life you never cared about politics.
In fact, you never showed any desire to get Bin
Laden.

When a magician tells you to watch his right hand,
always watch the left.

Next up on Fox News, Osama Bin Laden living in Iran!

Isn't this the same guy who said:
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

And
"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, responding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

Now it's important again?
Maybe he should have left Iraq alone and finished the correct job in the first place?

Mr Logo 2008-06-15 07:06:07 AM
Really, who cares about Osama bin Laden. What matters is that we got the mastermind of the S11 attacks - Sadam Hussein!

mesohorny 2008-06-15 07:08:58 AM
Are you serious? can you imagine if they caught Osama before the iraq war? I bet the past 6 years would've turned out way diffrent. I really doubt there would even be a Iraq war.

Of course he wants to catch him now public opinion is way low and the whole i don't want to see a democrat accomplish the main mission thing.

He dropped the ball big time on that one.

What would be great is if bin laden was 'caught' by pakistani troops at 12:01 pm on January 20th, 2009.

... you know, like ... 1 minute after president Obama got sworn into office. Kinda like a reverse of the Carter/Regan thing.

I wonder if obama's appearence is hindering any help, ie increased secret service, people milling around to gawk at obama.

gorbishof 2008-06-15 07:14:26 AM
Osama is a sweetheart compared to Saddam. I jus read a book by Saddam's pilots daughter. Freaking bizzare.

Yes, what with Saddam torturing people, probably with frat pranks. After all, who cares because they were terrorists, right? At least, that's what Saddam's government claimed.

I wondered that myself. Much as I love Obama, his clothes didn't seem that dirty in the video I saw. But by the same token, I could easily see his presence being difficult to deal with simply because of the entourage.

Still a million miles ahead of anyone else!

depmode98 2008-06-15 07:21:56 AM
I hope Obama captures Obama the first day in office so he can pretend to think he had anything at all to do with it infuriating Republicans, like the way Republicans take credit for Ronald Reagan freeing the hostages in Iran minutes after he was sworn in.

Hmmm...didn't Benazir Bhutto say something to that effect right before she was assassinated?

And seriously...the guy was on dialysis. That's a TEMPORARY MEASURE, folks. It's meant to buy some time and keep you going until there's a kidney available if you're a transplant candidate, or just to stave off dying as long as possible.
Either way, it's not something that's considered a long-term solution.

Yes, that dialysis thing, it was never confirmed. Given the accuracy of our previous intelligence, I wouldn't bank on it being correct.

Yakk 2008-06-15 07:30:43 AM
You know how you could have gotten Osama? used 1/10 the resources to go after him that you sent down the worthless mineshaft that was the Iraq war.

THAT is why you will be judged a failure by history. Well that will be the biggest reason.
