I'm not getting any sound. Is that a joke based on the previous thread, or a glitch?

P.S. Tom Waits should stick to songwriting.

ZAZ: I'm not getting any sound.

Works fine for me. Just takes a while to get started... who edited this clip?

Back when Tom was an interesting boho songwriter and not an Artiste.

Kinda loses the frenetic street-hustler feel when it's done at this time signature. Wonder who the bass player is. Sure ain't Jim Hughart.

Yeah, it's kind like inviting guys who don't "get" homosexuality to look at two naked twinks having hot dirty sex on a park bench.

/Likes Tom Waits. Would meet him on a park bench.

Yes, Tom Waits...

I like the Waltzing Matilda song, I love the song "God's Away On Business", "I'm still here", and others...

When I was young I thought Tom was not good. Now I know he's amazing. He does lots of stuff, tries new things all the time, and some of it is rotten, and some of it is beautiful.

/love Tom Waits

Nope, still don't get it. I can totally dig the guy's passion and emotion, and his songwriting chops are amazing. Unfortunately that voice is like a cheese grater on my eardrums.

To each their own, I suppose.

Overrated.

Plus I dont want to hear any complaints about Dylan's voice after listening to that screeching tom-cat in heat/nails on a blackboard 'singing' Waits does.

Found the sound problem -- there are two volume sliders in series with my setup, YouTube volume (normally hidden) and system volume (visible). YouTube sound was turned down.

I still don't "get" Tom Waits.

Tom Waits' voice used to annoy me and I refused to listen to any more of his songs after hearing "Clap Hands". About 10 years later I downloaded some of his stuff to give it another try. I heard "Martha" and almost cried (shut up!). Since then I've been listening to all of his I can get a hold of and can't get enough of his voice.
I think if you want something most people would "get", try "I Don't Want To Grow Up" or "Downtown Train".
