On it's surface Russert's passing doesn't have anything to do with Ron Paul whatsoever, and I was worried Wonkette wouldn't be able to fulfill their obligation of denigrating the Texas congressman every fifteen seconds. Overall I thought Russert was pretty decent at his job. There were figures on the left and on the right that seemed to intimidate him, and he would not ask them hard questions, but he did do some great interviews. He will be missed.

Ugh, what a terrible loss. I really admired and related to his passion for politics; I've never seen more genuine warmth and enthusiasm expressed toward political events and happenings than that expressed by Tim Russert. I was really looking forward to watching his coverage in November.

The minimization of his death and the attacks on his character certainly speak more of the depth and judgment of those who would minimize and attack than they do of Tim or his family and friends.
