Please provide an example of a Democratic candidate for office openly calling his or her opponent a Nazi, and you need not restrict yourself to those who are discussing immigration policy - any explicit claim that the speaker's Republican opponent is a Nazi will do.

Well, not just Mengele, but it's more limited than you'd think. Democrats see Nazis as the worst possible thing becuase of their evil deeds were of an authoritarian nature. Republicans see Terrorists as the worst possible thing becuase they're brown the most recent bad guy and they have short attention spans. So they cancel out. Everything else is WAY too crazy though.

I'm a Colorado native, actually, and I still follow Colorado politics. It astounds me that a state that, on balance, is pretty moderate and supports Democrats and Republicans alike, could send two people as batshiat crazy as Tom Tancredo and Marilyn Musgrave to Congress.

Celebs are suing for different reasons. Invasion of privacy or likeness rights or something. In some cases, these celebs are suing because they are limited public persons (look it up), and the defamatory comments are not about their public actions.

The examples you've provided are slander and libel. Unfortunately, in order for a public person to win a case about this, they have to prove that the statement was malicious, and not just an honest mistake or a matter of opinion.

I would support a law change that would allow a public figure to go before a judge and or jury and ask them for a statement declaring that the statements were false or libellous.

IIRC, right now the legal rationale is that public persons do not have any value on their reputation, and as such, damages would always be $0. And since the courts traditionally do not rule on inactionable cases, they cannot rule on defamation of public persons.

Yeah, did you read the headline? I mentioned that. There are 4 main forms of malaria, all caused by a protozoa, Plasmodium vivax (the most common), Plasmodium falciparum (the most lethal), Plasmodium ovale, and Plasmodium malariae. Most forms of malaria stay in your body in latent form forever, hanging out in the spleen and other areas.
