(CNN) Amusing The recent U.S. airstrike in Pakistan will not hurt their relationship. Admit the U.S. had a rough day and had been drinking a little and Pakistan should be more patient, but the U.S. is a good provider and is really good with the kids   (cnn.com) divider line 24

FTFA: Meanwhile, Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi discussed the incident at meeting Thursday with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.

Jaap de Hoop!? Wasn't he the drummer from Mott the Hoople?

FTA: Islamabad called it a "completely unprovoked and cowardly act," and the Pakistani government -- a key ally in the U.S.-led war on terrorism -- summoned U.S. ambassador Anne Patterson to protest.

They called a U.S. air-strike "cowardly"? I guess they'll have to move from ABC to HBO.

Sure, they'll raise a public fuss about it, but with a wink and nod they'll continue to accept billions in military aid from us.

Load of BS. Watch the video. The Taliban was 200 yards inside of Afghanistan shooting at Afghans, when they started losing they ran to the other side of the border into Pakistan and kept firing machineguns and shoulder fired rockets into and at the Afghans. An American RPV took them out. Too f-ing bad.

Suck it CNN. NPR scooped you yesterday.

Pakistan doesn't have control over that region of their own country and can't stop Taliban, etc from launching attacks across the border or basing themselves in Pakistan. The bombing, while necessary and justified, embarrasses Pakistan. They had to protest. They will likely recieve an apology and some token concession to save pride.

Did anyone else notice the different statements between the Paki ambassador and Islamabad. The ambassador "OK well too bad this happened, lets work past this". Islamabad, "completely unprovoked and cowardly act". I really wish they would get their story straight.

Ambassador - What the US hears
Islamabad - What the Pakistani sheeple hear

You really think we don't do the exact same thing?

Umm, just to be clear here, but isn't "Paki" usually considered to be an ethnic slur?
