At least he's yoked with that good Christian man who abhors "spin", and many good Christian professional journalists.

Yeah, but who's his baby momma?

The PBS NewsHour won't ever put politicians on their payroll as 'analysts' or 'anchors'. That's why I keep watching it.

He'd make a great tag-team partner with Bill O'Reilly. They'd beat the WWF's ratings across every time slot.

My respect for Huckabee just went down a lot. I thought he was better than that.

Meanwhile, Sen. Submitter (D-oh) was just arrested on corruption charges and for otherwise being amusing.

Rovian 2008-06-12 07:29:18 PM
Hucklebee didn't do that well in the primary if I remember correctly. If the aim of any broadcast is still to attract viewers, its hard to tell where Faux thought they were going with this. Is the talent pool really that shallow?

Meh, it doesn't bother me.

IMO, Huckabee is going to lead the new wing of the religious right. He wants this country to be more Christian, and says so. But he isn't for screwing the poor to benefit big business. He was a good governor in Arkansas and Foxnews desperately needs someone moderate like him.

Pretty much. ABC used to be my favorite network news. Now, not so much with George Stephaluphagus and Snakey McSnakesalot tagteamin it.

he must've scored points with Ailes and Murdoch over that Obama getting shot joke. That's the kind of stuff they love over there.

I actually wouldn't mind hearing Huckles be a talking head. I want him as far away from the presidency as possible, but he's an affable chap with a decent sense of humor.

Fox News is totally fair and balanced. They present opinions from all viewpoints - Christian fundamentalist Republicans, big business Republicans, neoconservative Republicans, paleoconservative Republicans....

RQB1018 2008-06-12 07:41:40 PM
As long as he's not presenting news under the cover of being "Fair and Balanced" I don't see the problem here.

It sounds like Fox is paying him to do opinion pieces.

Did you see his apology? That was classy you have to admit. He farked up. Manned up and admitted it. And said he was sorry. Not enough of that now days.

For what its worth, I can't buy into the "Fair & Balanced" line when the democratic / liberal viewpoint is Alan Colmes. Maybe if it were Terry McAullife or Howard Dean, someone who's done something of worth in the party, then I'd buy it.

Missed the apology, but that does sound like Huckabee. I disagree with the guy a lot on substantive matters, but, unlike the vast majority of Fox News people, I'd never claim he was dishonest or otherwise actively malicious.

If there were any money in left-wing atheist news, Fox's co-anchors would be Hugo Chavez and Satan. They're just whores doing their whore jobs, folks, nothing to get upset about.

Change Michelle Obama to Jeremiah Wright and you have a winner.

The "Baby Mama" dig was a low blow, but as First Lady, Michelle would be in a position to influence policy on a number of areas. I think the media should cover her what she says as diligently as they would Barack.

actually, i think huckabee has a chance to be a little bit less of a failure as a journalist, commentator, or whatever than those two.

i still imagine he'll have a lot of facepalm things to say. maybe if they only bring him on to talk about topics of religion...

Yes, because Susan Estrich, Bob Beckle, and Jaun Williams? They don't count. Neither does Alan Colmes unless he happens to do something special then all of a sudden he's worthy of getting videos all over the left wing websites.

Al Michaels has got to retire eventually, and I imagine he'd fit in. Not what you'd call washed-up, though.

They are as weak as their viewpoints.

I like the personal attack at the end though.
