Italy is to government what Bobcat Goldwaith is to speaking normally.

Italy's President is usually an old guy with no power.

Current Italian President Giorgio Napolitano was 80 when he took office, and Napolitano is approaching 83 years old.

Carlo Azeglio Ciampi was 79, Alessandro Pertini was 81.

And no, Berlusconi is not the President of Italy. Although he's almost old enough for the job.

Subby, I think you mean "prime minister", not "president".

Berlusconi is like Chavez, a gift that just keeps on giving.

Silvio Berlusconi? Where the hell am I, 2002?

BMulligan 2008-06-12 07:09:32 PM
Perhaps, but Berlusconi would still be the biggest douche.

Korovyov: Pres. Berlusconi is a good source of outrageous quotes.

1. He's the PM
2. In mid-May 2005, while opening the European Food Safety Authority in Parma (preferred over a Finnish location, after Berlusconi made an assertion of Finns "not knowing what prosciutto is"), Berlusconi claimed that he had to "dust off my playboy skills" with the Finnish president, Tarja Halonen, to convince her to locate the EFSA in Parma. This caused criticism from both Italy and Finland, with the Italian ambassador in Finland being summoned by the Finnish foreign minister. Berlusconi later 'retracted' the comment by saying that "anyone who had seen a picture of Halonen must have been aware that he had been joking"

That's harsh.

At an awards dinner in January 2007, Berlusconi was quoted as saying, "If I wasn't already married, I would marry you right away," and "With you, I'd go anywhere" to Mara Carfagna, a representative of Forza Italia and former showgirl. These flirtatious comments prompted his wife Veronica to demand an apology in a front-page letter to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, one of Berlusconi's rival publications. In a statement released through his political party, he begged for forgiveness and stated that he would "always protect [Veronica's] dignity."[44] Mara Carfagna is now serving under him as minister for Equal Opportunities.

Holy shiat, that's farking hilarious.

The Japanese PM is a month older than McCain, so Berlusconi doesn't have to worry either way.

I wonder how many loud Hillary supporters would say something about how they voted for her for selfish reasons...

Nah, they just say how sexist everyone is.

My Italian grandmother calls them "pancake". Never plural, always singular.

/Babelfish translates it as "pancake"
//also never plural
///probably 'cause you pluralize a word by changing the "e" to an "i"
////Pancaki!
