Well damn people, when you talk about pissing away a billion here and a billion there pretty soon you're talking about real money. It's got to come from somewhere. Granny ain't going to go hungry. Cat food is still less then a buck a can, for the cheap shiat.

Just think of it as a government jobs program and you'll be able to go back to dreaming happy little liberal dreams.

/plus we get some pretty nice, destructive hardware

I'm going with they're both true. More wars mean more military money, but at the same time spending cuts in reducing benefits to military personal. Because that's McBush's idea of conservative spending.

What we need is billions invested in getting America's Energy Future secured in a manner different from the Japanese strategy circa 1940.

FTA:
Democratic candidates have promised to withdraw U.S. troops and "end the war" by fiat, regardless of consequences (on page 1)

From Sen. Obama's campaign website:
Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.
(emphasis mine)

More details in IraqFactSheet.pdf.

OK. Any reason to read past page 1?

Anybody actually read that crap? Can you give us a cliffsnotes (R) version?
Not that I'd expect there to be anything meaningful in there...

well - the admins sure got the "It's not news, it's Fark" part down.

Obama -- add 65000 troops

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/27/AR200704270202 7. html (pops)

Obama -- immediately bring troops home

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/ (pops)

whatever.

I'm sure the Fark admins would never play games with something like that.

KramericaWallet 2008-06-12 07:08:00 PM
Caught this gem:
My administration will consider the use of all elements of American power to stop the outrageous acts of human destruction that have unfolded there. (Darfur)

Considering is easy. I'm sure Bush has done a lot of considering regarding Darfur in the last few years.

As is obvious, he meant increasing the personnel of the armed forces, not of the portion of them in Iraq. Still a bad idea, but not contradictory.

What kind of stupid humor is this?!

/how do you pronounce "facetious"?

Xai 2008-06-14 08:43:48 AM
wait, let me get a check on all this :

Mcain will, raise defence spending, increase healthcare spending, and lower taxes across the board.

Consideing the tax cuts alone will cost us another 4.5 trillion over 4 years ON TOP of the 600 billion we are losing every year at the moment, where is all this magic money going to come from?
