to be fair, most of the grass is green and sticky.

(reads article)

"I've been smoking so much green grass I wanted to do a bluegrass album."

DAMN YOU SNOOP DOGG!

Tofino 2008-06-11 03:57:00 PM
And I'll be buying my first Snoop album since Doggystyle. Sounds like awesome fun.

This is relevant to my interests because I like the following:

Snoop
Bluegrass
Weed

i wonder if he'll sing about "bling", "biatches", "cappin' a biatch" in these albums or if he'll sing about living in the country drinkin' moonshine.

Okay, I may have to check this out.

This guy is a genius when it comes to marketing himself and a damn good rapper on top of that. I will have to check this album out.

Anything has to be better than "Sensual Seduction", right?

I think bluegrass = blueberry yum yum.

Someone needs to bring a camera with them to film Snoop getting blazed and making bluegrass songs. There's no way that isn't entertaining.

They already sing a lot about all of these things in bluegrass music......

My bumpersticker idea: 'rap is black square dancing' became inoffensive today.

And Limewire...I've also seen it labeled as Primus, Leftover Salmon, Tim McGraw, and others. I guess it was helpful in popularizing a little known band out of Texas. Being a Phish fan already when I heard it (save the hippy bashing for some other time...), I knew it obviously wasn't them from the first time I heard it, so it's funny when people still think it's them.

Anyhow, sign me up for checking out this album too. It would be awesome if Snoop enlisted the Gourds for assistance on this album in some capacity.

There is a series of mashups I found somewhere called gangstagrass. Not bad.

I just got back from Wakarusa, so I'm really getting a kick out of these replies.

Snoop will be at the Disco Biscuits festival this summer(jam - mainly electronica, but some rootsy acts). Already had my ticket when he announced. Had to read it theree times to believe it. Should be excellent.

I'll bring my green hat.

A search for "bluegrass" on OK! Magazine's website yields zero results.

Did anyone see his Storyteller's concert?

Instead of using the machine-created beats and music like he does on the album cut, he used a full band complete with guitars and brass instruments. Everything was re-written to incorporate the band and it sounded freaking amazing.

I would hope someone would tell Snoop that he's sitting on the next phase in rap/hip-hop: abandon the generic synth sounds and start composing full musical backgrounds to the lyrics. Songs like "My Medicine" off his new album should be the direction rap should go, not the exception to the rule.

My Medicine (new window)
