Yeah, that place is pretty good, I'd avoid the Cannibal Corpse and the Cradle Of Filth though.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Isn't that the standard, cliche' image of Buffy that everyone uses when referring to the Buffster?

I wonder if I could get that to go? I'm riding with the driver out to Metropolis, might even be going to Brazil. And I gotta get there before I'm killed by death or some sort of civil war breaks out.

If they don't let you have that to go, you'll be the one to sing the blues. Going to Brazil, are you flying down to Rio? Hopefully you don't have to travel second class, you won't be too farking happy.

Good lord, the last thing this place needs is yet another influx of people. I suppose it should be better now that it's warm and they can use the outdoor space again, but I know people who have gone on Friday and Saturday nights where they're quoted a 2 hour wait. The shortest time I've waited was 30 minutes, which isn't too bad, but the nights I've gone have been

-- Weeknights
-- The Friday after Thanksgiving (many people out of town)
-- A night when it was dumping snow and about 8-12 inches fell over the course of the night

If you're going to go, try to go on the weekend in the middle of the afternoon, especially now that it's nice outside, you shouldn't have to wait much if at all. But this place already was known by a pretty fair number of people, and then it showed up on Check Please, which was what killed the Hopleaf for us too. Thank god for the music at Kuma's, which will keep the Check Please effect from making the place permanently impossible to get into without an insane wait.

I've had the Slayer, it's quite tasty. The Anger comes out the next day when it gives you Ring of Fire.

Another hopleaf fan here. I've taken Michaels beer class there 3 times now. That place is great, but trying to get even a spot to STAND is impossible.

Knew where it was before clicking the link. Was there a couple of weeks ago, first time and even for a weeknight we waited for an hour. worth it though, I'll go back.

Toquinha 2008-06-11 06:05:58 PM
I recall the Hard Rock Cafe having music themed menu items too (appropriately), although not likely nearly as cool as these ones. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Sandwich (obvious) was one of them. I'd have to be a lot more familiar with the bands in question to get the references, though.

But while I'm here...

Velvet Revolver: Contains pieces from other burgers, flavoured with Jack Daniels barbecue sauce

Rage Against the Machine: made by unionized labour, all local vegan ingredients, tofu patty. Served en flambé

My wife and I quit going. It's absolutely insane in there, and the last couple of times we went the food wasn't as good as it used to be either. We can walk to the Map Room (and often do, it's easily the bar we go to most often), hop the Blue Line to walking distance to the original Small Bar (or walk to the Division one if we're feeling like walking a mile or so, though that one is really busy most of the time), etc, so it's not worth the hassle to us anymore. Having met him before I like the owner, but since I know they're not hurting for business at all I don't feel too bad about not going there anymore.

They are pretty good. If you pay attention when you are in the crowd, you shouldn't get sucked into a pit if you don't want to go in.

/Only one of the Big 4 I've seen
//Friend asked me "hey you wanna go" like a week before and even though I didn't really listen to them back then I said "sure"
