The death penalty is a terrible thing.

I would much rather die than spend the rest of my life in a jail cell. I am sure others would agree with me. So is the death penalty not the easy way out?

Also as long as you keep them in jail you can later find out they may not be guilty. Here in Canada we have had a couple "murders" get off 20 years later because of DNA. In some U.S. states they would be dead.

Do what they did with Ed Gein. Stick him in a mental facility until he dies of old age.

I have to say though... if the option is prison for the rest of his life or a lethal injection, I frankly believe the former is worse.
