It is a well known fact that reality has a liberal bias.

"I hadn't heard that" and "frankly, I've been focused elsewhere, like on gasoline prices" were the two interesting quotes.

Based on this and other comments (Cheney), I'd guess they are just sliding out, letting their people eat cake.

Nice job there. If this were a ship, both of those losers would have been eaten by sharks by now (having been thrown overboard by the crew).

I'd be surprised if Bush has had to pay for his own gas since ... well, if ever.

What station do you get it from, if you don't mind my asking? Or are you producing it yourself? Are you running B100? My husband puts B20 in his truck, gets it at a SeQuential cardlock in SE; I think they only have B5 and B20, though, and the 80-95% regular diesel keeps the price up.

Great Janitor 2008-06-08 06:36:29 PM
What scares me about this is that gasoline isn't a luxury item, it's a necessity. As the cost of gas increases, the stores have to figure out how to cover that cost, be it through cutting labor costs or passing it on to the customer through higher prices. I'm wanting to know why it took close to three years for gas in my area to go from $1.10/gallon to $2/gallon, but it took less than two months for it to jump from $3.10/gallon to $4/gallon.

Really, there is no reason why gas is more that $70. It's mostly retarded speculators who don't see the harm that they're doing (just the money that they're making by artificially driving up the price). If this does keep up, one of two things will happen. 1) the government will have to step in and put a cap on gas prices, or 2) this inflation of gas prices will get to the point that the bubble will burst and gas will be back to about $2/gallon, if not lower.

Great Janitor 2008-06-08 06:37:57 PM
Grr... that was Really, there is no reason why oil is more than $70/barrel.

Nothing a competent foreign policy couldn't address.

Been so long since we had one of those, nobody knows what one looks like any more.

Hint: Not starting a war you had no idea how to win in one of the major oil countries would have been a good start, you farking dumbass neocon republicans.

Remember the campaign ads in 2000 about how Al Gore would make gas prices $3/gallon? "Gored at the pump" was the tagline.

SQBiofuels (new window) Based here in Portland.

Sorry it took so long..they are fixed at 3.49 and Oregon gives a straight write off at 50 cents a gallon. My net is 2.99 a gallon. Wonderful stuff too, my 03 F250 runs like a charm.

Unless you're in the web design business (like some of us are), and then having the discussion with clients about how many days per week they need us physically at the office.

I'm talking with a new client in the summer about once-a-week visits - - it's a 110-mile round trip each day. If he doesn't go for it, my hourly is going waaaay up.

GaryPDX [TotalFark] 2008-06-08 07:02:12 PM
FYI, any diesel on the road build after 1994 can run on it. It's a no brainer. 2 things..after the first 7-10 tanks, swap out the fuel filter. Biodiesel is abrasive and cleans the system of old petro gunk. You only need to do it once after it's clean, no worries. Second, you need to be conscious of cold weather. Biodiesel gels at about 40 degrees, so you mix it with regular diesel temporarily. I do a 70/30 mix in the winter months..B99 the rest.

CANADA 2,542
SAUDI ARABIA 1,542
MEXICO 1,358
NIGERIA 1,174
VENEZUELA 1,033

I have that affect on the Liberals around here. It's rather amusing. I used to drive NW 23rd (freaky hippy area) to work in my big fatty truck that smells like a french fry and get strange looks man!!!

People used to tell me it cost to much..now it's a LOT cheaper and no body jumping on it. It's made from fry oil waste for chissakes..lol. It usually goes straight into a landfill.

It triples the life of the engine and quiets the notorious diesel "knock". I just don't understand why it's not taking off.

I probably should have read better..lol. I get B99 over at the cardlock in Tigard. I have a 100 gallon transfer tank on my flatbed. I carry 135 gallons when I'm full (1500 mile range). I will be making it myself soon..SQ is the only game and the State is connected to it. (commies..lol) We need some good old fashioned Capitalism going on with this stuff.

If fuel oil/diesel is $8 a gallon (or even $4.00/gal) in November, there will be oil riots in the Northeast. The old saw about lower income/fixed income folks having to choose between food or heat will be pointless -- they won't be able to afford either.

Pellet stoves are flying off the shelves in the NE right now -- except that there are no pellets to be found in most places. People will be beyond desperate come fall if things don't change dramatically. I think that's why this is happening now; those that are raking in the cash right now know that they can't do this through the winter without some severe repercussions, and are faced with the liklihood of a President that's not in their back pockets. Thus, they're getting all they can now.

So? Lawmakers need to pass a resolution explaining that Americans need a minimum amount of gallons of gas pumped each week or they get sent to detention camp so they can promote consumption. George Bush is doing a great job to the environment raising all those gas prices. He needs to abolish mass transit.
