Maybe Bill can take her to a strip club for drinks.

McStinky 2008-06-08 03:16:37 AM
Obama ran a better campaign. She, on the other had, changed her top staff in the middle of the campaign, changed her approach from nutcracker to sympathy queen and then to friend of white, middle-class America. She pandered to the audience of the day, which never works in politics, because your audience isn't static.

She needed to win those who didn't trust her by BEING trustworthy; she failed.

Blaming this on misogyny is disgusting. The statement from her speech "I know there are still barriers and biases out there, often unconscious" is her blaiming at least part of her loss to those with biases. She either cannot conceive that she is disliked merely because of the things she says, or believes that the small minority of true misogynists would have voted for her if they weren't sexist.

/On to the general

Confabulat [TotalFark] 2008-06-08 03:19:39 AM
She does seem to have a serious disconnect with reality.

I like to think even politicians have souls, but god they are annoying. It makes me chuckle to think of one getting depressed because they lost their silly little race and have to settle for being a millionaire Senator.

oh the pain

Drongo3 [TotalFark] 2008-06-08 03:26:31 AM
I guarantee she'll be running again as soon as Obama is out of office.

The Million Dollar Question: Will her supporters still love her with turkey neck?

Great Janitor 2008-06-08 03:27:14 AM
I don't think that Clinton's finished. She said that she's suspended her campaign, not conceded. She may return in 2012 to 'resume her campaign', or she may get some lawyers, and fight for the Florida and that other state, delegates, as well as what other problems she might invent to cast enough doubt as to who really won the nomination. I don't think she's depressed, just planning her next move in this election.

That being said, if Obama loses in November, Clinton's going to be out of a job because the Dems won't touch her because they'll blame her for their lose to McCain (which would be fair, especially if the Clinton supporters are backing McCain).

Israel sucks, and it's a damn shame the U.S. is its devoted slave, because it offers us nothing in return. And what a bunch of a-holes they continually prove to be.

Does that make me an anti-Semite? Or just pointing out the obvious?

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2008-06-08 03:33:47 AM
I have no doubt that she will need therapy and time to 'get over' her loss. That had to be an extremely stressful situation and she's never struck me as the most stable of psyches.

That aside, even if she IS depressed, she's got a couple million still in the bank. she can go be depressed in places like the Caribbean islands or Hawaii. that's much better than being broke and depressed in NYC during the summer season.

That would only apply to dems, republican egos are sufficiently impervious to reality that they can coast on the closeness of the call for decades.

Suicidal Writer 2008-06-08 04:09:06 AM
When does reality-not just the political, but the personal-finally penetrate the emotions of a losing presidential candidate?

The writer couldn't get through the first sentence without using a subtle double-entendre suggesting Clinton is frigid and sexless?

Well, look, I don't condone Bill's actions in the Oval Office, but take one look at Hillary and ask yourself what you'd do in a similar situation.

Probably. There's nothing more vile in a person's character than not believing in the infallibility of the government of the state of Israel.

I would really hate to be on her personal staff right now. She is a total biatch when things are going well. I can't imagine how she is now.

And yes, that makes you anti-semitic.

You know who else was.... screeeech.

Yes Mr. Jewish Sir, Israel is a really nice country full of lovely people, and only offers wonderful benefits for America.

Arabs are Semites.

/just sayin'

Plus, not accepting every Israeli action as absolutely correct and justified, and every Arab attitude unjustified does not make one anti-Israel. If it does, than a large portion of the Knesset apparently hates Israel. Israeli politicians routinely criticize their nation in terms that would get an American politician tarred and feathered as jew-hating bigot.

Whats the over/under on Hillary divorcing Bill now?

Six_By_Nine 2008-06-08 09:03:46 AM
Why do I care?

No, seriously, why do I care?

Didn't she build her case for the presidency on being tough?

I'd have a bit of respect for her if she came out and said, 'I have to get the fark over it and continue to serve the country' like, you know, she was saying yesterday (I believe that before I tuned out her speech she said something about trying to right all the injustices in this country) instead of telling the world it was a crushing loss that depressed the hell out of her.

Yeah, losing a bid for the presidency is huge, and decompressing is probably going to take a while, but so what? I bet there are some mornings Obama looks in the mirror and says to himself: 'Fark me, how the fark did I make it this far?' and he's still got a lot of work ahead of him.

So, if she wants to run again in 2012 or 2016 (depending upon which way the wind blows this year), I say, she should just not let anyone see it if she's hurt. She should do what she said she'd do yesterday and serve to the best of her ability, stop appearing in magazines, don't even think about publishing another book, reach out to her most visible critics and listen to them instead of polls.

In other words, be a politician and not a farking celebrity.

Party Boy: Whats the over/under on Hillary divorcing Bill now?

Absolutely zero. A bargain was struck long ago, and although it didn't pan out, they are forever joined in the bargain. A divorce would forever mark her as a jilted woman, and that's the last image she wants to cultivate now. No, they stay together, but Bill will never appear on the campaign trail for her ever again. He is clearly a liability now since he doesn't want to stick to the script.

carter went anti-semite just like obama is a muslim (and related to saddam hussein).

I find it interesting as an independent voter how when the vast majority of white people in a place like WVA vote for Hillary they're racist, but when nearly all the black voters in all the other states pull for Obama it's because ... he represents hope and change?

ranold 2008-06-08 09:10:04 AM
She's a delusional feminist, who I must say shouldn't get a pass on her racist and hypocritical tactics.
Don't go away mad/sad Hillary, just go away.
To think some people actually take these nutjobs seriously is a sad testament to how people can believe in utter bullshiat, totally buying into it.

HumbleGenius 2008-06-08 09:10:24 AM
She's the most famous loser in the world right now, by far.

And everywhere she goes she'll see Obama's face on TV and on magazine and newspaper covers, and she will be ignored.

The world makes a little more sense now.

They won't get divorced, they'll stay together for the sake of Chelsea.

aneki 2008-06-08 09:11:02 AM
My prediction is that Hillary will quietly not go for the VP position, let Obama go into the general and fail. During the 4 years of McCain she will take Reid's place as Senate Majority leader, then be the "I told you so" candidate in 2012.

Dear Hillary, the misogyny concept might have been an easier sell if you hadn't lost to a minority candidate. You think that all real issues aside, America is more ready for a black man as president than a white woman? Please note, roughly half the population IS women...

They will wait a year to 18 months and then make it official. In the meantime it will become increasingly clear that they lead separate lives and that Bill is getting more and more reckless with trying to squeeze a bit more excitement into his last somewhat virile years.

Yes, they struck a deal many years ago but the big plan failed. He's of no use to her anymore. He blew his entire load on this campaign and it failed. This chance won't come again and they know it, or the realization will sink in over the coming months.

bill and hillary should just go ahead and divorce so hillary can become the next eleanor roosevelt and bill can get his custom tailored silk pajamas and take over for hugh hefner.

bill would make the perfect successor to hef. just think what the summits would be like with world leaders in their pajamas out by the grotto discussing affairs of state.

Better question. If all the primaries had been held on the same day as Iowa, would Obama have won big?

If the primaries were all held today (post rev wright stuff), would Obama win?
