Parents need to start parenting! You are the adult. You are responsible for what happens within your home. If you don't like the content of a t.v. show, game, book, etc., don't allow it in your home - that is your choice - you get to be the legislator, you make the laws of your home. Don't abdicate that responsibility to the government. Exercise your own common sense - way back when, I enjoyed listening to Howard Stern on my commute to work - if he was getting too raunchy for my tastes, I changed the dial - and, I never listened to him if my kids were in the car.

Holy crap!, a politician that actually uses logic and common sense.

She will never get elected :(

I play Alliance and I hate to admit it, but, the Horde seem to be superior players in every way.

They display better teamwork and they win 90% of the BGs.

/Should have rolled Horde

It's a smaller community, that's for sure. All the raid guilds Horde side on my server know each other fairly well. So we tend to spot the slobbering idiots pretty quickly and they don't get to play Horde games with the rest of us. The Alliance is so huge tho that some of the more annoying players can guild dance and hide long enough to pick up just enough gear to look like they know what they're doing.

Plus, I think most of the Alliance get the kiddies. The Horde seems to pick up the more mature players. Ok, and more of the freaks. Tactically brilliant freaks...but freaks just the same.

Hahaha, makes sense someone running for office can't get anything more complicated than a hunter to 70.

70 Orc hunter (12 beast mastery, 26 marksman, 23 survival)

That spec is all kinds of fail. Actually, all of hers are. And no, I'm not going to list my toons.

That's crazy awesome to think that World of Warcraft extends their demographic into that age group. Perhaps the AARP should offer a WoW discount ...

My ex-gf started me on WoW, and since she was Alliance, that was where I started, and I got bored with the game after we broke up. A friend of mine invited me to her server (Horde side), and I've gotten back into it.

It's a refreshing relief to not see constant Chuck Norris jokes, the Auction House flooded with grey vendor trash, the Trade channel clogged with people trying to sell BOP items, having idiots select Need on every blue item roll, regardless of class (OMG, my Pally like TOTALLY needs an Agility bonus Dagger!).

The downside? Putting up with Alliance gankers on a PvP server. I've seen level 60s and 70s camp Hillsbrad Fields for HOURS waiting to gank level 20-30 Horde players doing Tarren Mills quests.

First: Alliance has more people, and thus more retards. Remember that a little retard goes a long way.

Second: Anyone who plays a character for the express purpose of juvenile power fantasies is going to want to look like a handsome humanoid or set up a slutty female who dresses and dances like a stripper (which, oddly enough, all female races do). These juvenile "perpetual virgin" stereotypes also tend to be lousy team players.

Which is a shame, since I really like the pathos of the Draenei (not to mention I think they look cool) but you have to search through a big haystack to find the "needle" of decent players.

Level 60ish Tauren Druid.

Of course it's not like it matters that much, I doubt I'm going to have the patience to stick around the game for much longer. "MMOs are just too MMO" as the terminally recursive man said.

That's a perfectly acceptable raiding spec for Kara and the like. It's not great at anything, but her traps will stick, and she probably took mostly dps enhancing talents in MM and BM. At end-game when 25 mans will likely have more than enough overlap she'll want to be more specifically focussed, but I don't see a problem with it.

Oh, come off it. I've seen more horde ganking lowbies than I've ever even *seen* horde lowbies. Yesterday a pair of 50's were hanging around Lakeshire ganking of all the stupid places. Let's not even discuss the camping of Nessingway Camp. ugh. Horde suck. Or the asshole who ganked us in the middle of Terokk's Downfall. Wasn't my quest, but that guy must have spent several days farming scrolls to get the non-reusable summoning item. Yeah, that's pure Horde class there.

Nikita 2008-06-07 05:04:12 PM
an Orc hunter? those are simply a myth, at least on my server they were. Bet it's a female orc hunter too which is even more rare.

My server was mostly populated with either Nelf Hunters or Male Tauren Hunters, then the xpack came and there was a minor explosion of belf hunters but horde side hunters pretty much seemed to be predominantly male tauren for some odd reason.

I almost miss playing WoW. But then i remember how it degenerated into feeling like i was basically carrying 4 to 24 other people ( and 39 back in the day) on my back.
With maybe only 20% of the people in the raid or group both knowing what they were supposed to do, and doing it well. the rest were drunken/drugged up idiots who just wanted quick shiny purples.

It also didn't help that Blizzard didn't know how to make fun boss encounters from the tank's perspective. Most fun I ever had in WoW was fighting Onyxia or the entire instance of AQ40.

The Kara chess event was kinda fun too if only because it was a change of pace. It was a bit too easy though.

No. It's not. There are 2 acceptable PVE specs for hunters 41/20 and some survival crap (I don't remember exact numbers.) BM is the best DPS and so easy you can top DPS by only using one button. Survival is for buffing the raid and at kara level gear it's probably not worth it unless you like the playstyle. MM is for arenas. End story.

On the topic of horde vs alliance, I've played 2 horde chars up to 70 and 2 ally chars up to 70. I've played across 4 different servers. I notice that the ally to horde difference actually varies more by server than by faction. Some servers and battlegroups are full of stupid ally, some are full of stupid horde. Replace stupid with jerk, whiny, stubborn, or any other adjective you want really.

/Priest, war, hunter, and druid are my 70s.

I used to throw parties and game shows in front of one of the freeports. Basically, i'd lay down hundreds of pieces of bread (you could drop things willingly, and everything would show up as a little sack) and then one sack full of like 10sp, and then a great search would ensue. or i'd get a friend and we'd re-enact plays and things. we had a pretty good gathering at one time.

My favorite Party game was HOLE JUMPING.

We would get about 10 to 20 people, and all make clerics on an alternate server. Then we would all go get bound by THE HOLE, and, after everyone had gotten a DIVINE AURA spell, we would wait till it reset, then, everyone jumps into the hole, with DA on. Land at the bottom and run around and try to see who would live the logest while all the high level baddies used to try to eat us.

Good times!
