ok that's just sad. by Novemeber they'll be hiding him away somewhere and replaying the audio from old speeches from 2000 with a cardboard cutout of him from a pic taken 20 yrs ago propped up behind the podium.

TheCid 2008-06-06 03:01:30 AM
This is just downright shameful. Censorship is utterly despicable, yet these people are so accepting of censorship they aren't even trying to hide it.

McCain can have "Mortal Joe" as his VP- let the Republican party go even further into censorship land.

xtex: Is anyone else getting the feeling that we're going to be absolutely screwed no matter who wins this election?

Uh, no?

You've got one candidate who will likely help your country, and another who will likely not help your country - that means you're only screwed one way.

Don't blame McCain. He isn't allowed to have videos on YouTube without his mom's permission.

Come on McCain campaign... Yes, we definitely want the White House, but we would at least like to have to work for it. It's more satisfying that way.

Personally, I do feel like this is another douchebag/turd sandwich conundrum, but that's just me. I happen to know of millions of mouth breathing sheeple that feel otherwise ecstatic about electing a cipher or an old cold warrior.

Nope... in fact, I'm feeling pretty positive about this presidential election.

I'm not going to swoon every time Obama opens his mouth, but so far, I'm pleased with what he's been saying and I agree with the majority of his platform.

Whether or not that optimism is going to pan out into a good presidency (should he win the general election) remains to be seen, obviously.

No, it's just you.

It takes a special kind of willful ignorance to publicly post that you can't see any major difference between the candidates in this election. I cannot remember an election where the differences have been so clearly defined and for you to suggest there is no difference shows either a complete lack of research on your part, an intentional misrepresentation by you to cloud the issues, or possibly a very successful troll - of which it is getting harder to tell the real idiots from those who are mocking them.

proteus_b: you guys should watch it. what will you say about the "they're censoring obama scandal" when it breaks?

I will criticize him if he does. This idea that you conservatives have that Obama supporters are blind followers is laughable. I know that you have had a hard time efending anything about the last 7 years of your parties leadership, but that does not not mean that we are going to feel the same way. I am going to take Obama at his word that he is actually a Populist Progressive. I would like to see one in office. If he ends up being another corporate shill like the rest of them, I will be disappointed and will become one of his biggest critics.

Another clear indication that conservatives, a group founded on resistance to change, cannot understand this new, technologically driven world we live in and are fighting tooth and nail to apply the older, successful strategies that worked for them so well back in 2000.

Hey guys, that's pre-9/11 thinking and it is going to cost you this election, just like it did in 2006 but with a vengeance.

It's a little sketch. But most of all, dumb marketing. Youtube has proven to be one of the best ways to disseminate campaign speeches and campaign videos when people want to see them. It would appear that he's just worried that Brack isn't even playing in the same league and McCain just kind of realized what having all that energy focused on him will mean.

It used to be the Dem nominee that had to deal with the GOP pressure. It looks like the tables have turned for this cycle.

Compared to the blinder of a success we've had for almost a decade.

"Yes, there have been appeasers in the past, and the president is exactly right, and one of them is Neville Chamberlain,' Mr. McCain told reporters on his campaign bus after a speech in Columbus, Ohio.

Honestly this is a good tactic by McCain. People that frequent YouTube are not part of the electoral demographic that McCain is aiming for. But, good YouTube videos have a way of escaping that community and quickly becoming ubiquitous throughout the country.

But... seeing as how the videos are back, I have a feeling that this is more of a technical issue with YouTube. But the meme is out there now, and it will spread and be another embarrassing point that McCain has to deal with.

Yes, it would, if there was any chance that Obama could be anywhere near as bad as what we have suffered through for the last seven and a half years.

At the very least this man can talk, something that is probably scaring the crap out of people that were satisfied with President Bush.

There is a change coming, you might not like it but some of us are relishing the thought. We've seen what the Republicans have done with power, now it's our turn.

Let's make an appointment to discuss this topic three years out.
If things suck directly due to the Democrats being in power, it should be obvious.
Not that this administration is leaving us the single largest mess in American history, right?

The man's an idiot. People can disseminate stuff faster than censors can keep up.

Here's all you need:

some cheap digital video camera that accepts AV input (I use the dirt-cheap Aiptek A-HD, Target, $120 or so. Records onto SD cards)

the skills to plug the red / white / yellow cable that came with the camera into the same colors at the back of the cable or satellite receiver box, or VCR, or Tivo, or whatever, and then plug that same cable into the camera and select AV Input

software that comes free with any PC / Mac to trim the video, add titles, add music, etc.

Anyone with even a DSL connection can get a short video from the camera onto the computer in seconds, have it edited and titled in minutes, and have it on YouTube within the hour.

McCain had tried to grab change and failed. Nice green screen, though. Maybe someone would like to add painful sports bloopers behind him, because the lack of audience participation was otherwise painful in itself.

Random Reality Check: Not that this administration is leaving us the single largest mess in American history, right?

No, actually. I think that Buchanan left the biggest mess in American History. Bush is in the top five, I'd say, but is by no means #1. The issues that Americans (and the world at large) face can be as potentially devastating, but I don't think we're there yet.

Jeremy Bates: I love it when people say, "Both parties are just as bad."

Both parties are bad. Republicans are worse.
