What could possibly go wrong?

remus 2008-06-04 09:57:02 PM
Maybe they could publicize it by doing a Pepsi commercial with Michael Jackson?

MacG [TotalFark] 2008-06-04 09:57:22 PM
DIA-- oh, wait...

Earguy [TotalFark] 2008-06-04 10:03:40 PM
You'd think they would have learned their lesson before. Once bitten, twice shy.

I've always carried a torch for them.
I'm sure no onesmokealarm will go off.
/is it illegal to type f1r3 in a crowded thread, yet?

I_C_Weener [TotalFark] 2008-06-04 11:32:26 PM
Whoa subby. Too soon. Its still too hot a topic to touch.

MorningBreath [TotalFark] 2008-06-04 11:44:16 PM
I heard their pyrotechnic displays are to die for.

Gunny Highway 2008-06-05 12:33:05 AM
It is unfortunate that every Great White joke is so damn funny because it is such a sad story. I still laugh but feel bad about it.

TeddyBallGame [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 12:41:58 AM
I wonder if Rhode Island is one the schedule? That would be a hot ticket

Generation_D [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 12:58:30 AM
Without Tawny Kitaen (80s version) there's no point.

Oh, wait, thats Whitesnake, not Great White.

So there's no point then.

I've seen these jokers as opening band too many times in the 80s. I swear to God that every show I saw in Rapid City or Sioux Falls had Great White open.

Then I go to Sturgis for the Rally and...theres Great White playing again.

Gangway Fathead 2008-06-05 02:16:57 AM
Why tour? It's not as if they're burnng up the charts right now.

/all i got...

SockMonkeyHolocaust 2008-06-05 02:22:10 AM
After that little deal I remember emailing the guy from a band I used to do pyro with and telling him that I was so glad that never happened to us. I had made a homemade rig that detonated a bunch of different powders that did different things and man was it unsafe.

The sound guy at the Chameleon in Lancaster wouldn't let us use it because his dad was in a band in the 80s where their stage pyro show ignited all the Aquanet in the guy's hair and burned him terribly.

It could have been worse, they used to play with this band that had tubes across the stage and they'd fill them with gunpowder. It was triggered by plugging them into a multistrip and then turning them on. They'd then have a bunch of flares shooting up about two feet into the sky that burned intensely bright for a few seconds. Christ that thing was dangerous.

Arnie from Sacramento does not approve...

WAY obscure

haemaker [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 03:52:59 AM
Didn't they just rehearse at Universal Studios?

haemaker [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 04:03:07 AM
I was going to buy another album, but, you know, once bitten, twice shy.

Teufel232 2008-06-05 04:05:40 AM
As a firefighter and someone who used to live a block away, around the corner, from the remnants of the Station in RI, I'm really getting a kick out of these replies ...

/No, really
//Very tragic accident that happened
///Still thinks that they all should have been prosecuted

shaft6969 [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 04:10:34 AM
+1 subby. enjoy the trip

FlyingJ 2008-06-05 04:47:41 AM
Teufel232, stories, man, stories

I don't get Budweiser settling their lawsuit-it's like why did Ford pay millions to Bill Shoemaker?...the creepiest part of this video is where the doors next to the stage are open & empty, but when the cameraguy goes alongside the radio station van you can hear them screaming trapped inside (the bathroom?). We'd all go to clubs in retrospect that are just as crappy, if we ever thought of how dangerous we'd never go in there...

Can someone just kill the rest of the band off? Why does shiat and mediocrity live forever, while greatness gets snuffed at first breath of life?

JQPublic [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 06:23:35 AM
I_AM_M: Can someone just kill the rest of the band off? Why does shiat and mediocrity live forever, while greatness gets snuffed at first breath of life?

Whats all this carping?

You get immolated at the concert you're at, not the concert you wish you were at.

haemaker: I was going to buy another album, but, you know, once bitten, twice shy.

You could always download and burn it.

HOLY CRAP! I'll be telling people this one all day. Best comment of the thread.

PYROY 2008-06-05 08:33:04 AM
I think they've mourned long enough. It's time for them to pick up the pieces and get back to sucking ass.

subtard 2008-06-05 09:23:21 AM
If they're not playing "Once bitten twice shy" I'm not going.

mcongraff 2008-06-05 09:33:50 AM
because death is funny.

DrakeLabatt 2008-06-05 09:57:16 AM
I thought that, if the group still existed, they'd be tied up in litigation until the year 3008.

Sherjo311 2008-06-05 09:57:54 AM
They should hire some trained professional to make sure they have a safe pyrotechnic show, of course.

i253.photobucket.com

/of course, I could always just be trying to make a funny quip an excuse to throw my 2 cents in here... just saying...

Whatthefark 2008-06-05 10:27:27 AM
They should rename the band to Phoenix.

BSCavalier 2008-06-05 10:34:11 AM
Murderers. They better not come to the East Coast.

tequilasundae 2008-06-05 10:38:29 AM
i always envisioned the metalheads lining up at the pearly gates, telling st peter how they passed on..and being sent down because they went to and died at a Great White concert in the 2000's...

yeah i know..
going to meet them there

BigSnatch [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 10:44:01 AM

Marla Singer's Laundry [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 11:49:24 AM
Great White?

Their live show isn't so hot.

flecsrogar 2008-06-05 11:49:32 AM
Are they going to cover "Great Balls of Fire" on this tour? As long as their practicing what they preach I mean...

Farkomatic 2008-06-05 11:52:16 AM
Well, it's always nice to know what's cooking with the band.

Marla Singer's Laundry [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 11:53:07 AM
They need to do that P-Funk song that has

"The roof...the roof...the roof is on...FIRE!"

riknight 2008-06-05 11:57:24 AM
Haven lost some good friends in that fire and they should have been all charge and locked up also, Only the former manager had the balls to be a man admit his roll in it and do time mind you it was a little bit of time he at lease did something

Will Continue to Monitor 2008-06-05 11:57:44 AM
Hey guys, could we have about ten more references to "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" please? That would be super!

nirwana [TotalFark] 2008-06-05 11:58:35 AM
Good for them. I can't stand them, never have, but I'm sure they felt like shiat after what happened.
