On second thought, let's not go to Mull of Kintyre.

'Tis a silly place.

There is a certain point in the late 70s/early 80's where Macca could still write a hook but couldn't compose a solid song around it, which made it infuriating to have such a crappy song stuck in your head like peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth. He basically wrote the pop equivalent of commercial jingles.

We call this Simply Having A Dreadfull Christmas Time.

Biggest selling single in UK still (someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it still holds the record)

I always liked the harmonies between Macca and Denny Laine, too bad they quit working together after the Tug of War album (who's fault? depends on which side you take)

I'm from the Mull of Kintyre. And I really, really hate this song.

My mother (her parents came here from scotland just before her birth) loves this song soo much...I fear when she passes away that this song will start the waterworks anytime I hear it.

/add "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes too
//that scene gets me every time in Tommy Boy (his dad's death)

My son is a beginner guitar player, and this is one of the first complete songs he learned.

By playing it over, and over, and over, and over.

/And over again.
//Pretty damn sick of Norwegian Wood too.

A little gimmicky but it's cool anyway. At least it's not Silly Love Songs.

But what's wrong with that; I'd like to know?
