Stick it up your ass, subby. I saw them a few weeks ago, and it was one of the finest performances I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of shows.

And an article from 2005? WTF?

I wish.

Crappy music? Only when you compare it to Celine Dion, surely.

TeddyBallGame: Uh, oh. The under 30 Farkers are going to get their hackles up.

That's a cute pic in your profile, but tell me: how can you play poker with six cards in your hand?

I agree. I'd love to see one of their shows and I hear their shows are really fantastic.

Their music is awesome.

The usual false dilemma of "reasonable environmental policies" vs. "must live in cave".

The recommendations from the scientific community deal with the bottom line-- society requires a certain amount of energy to run. You can and should reduce that energy by personal conservation, but the big gains lie in the infrastructure, especially the energy generation step.

Instead of blaming Radiohead for fans driving to their concert, why not look at the lack of foresight by governments that has resulted in such poor mass transit options across the US? Instead of blaming Radiohead for using energy to make CDs, why not look at our miserable investments in energy sources that don't rely on fossil fuels?

Radiohead isn't going to build a fission plant. Radiohead isn't going to design a massive expansion of rail systems. They're not going to do the R&D needed to invent a 50% efficient solar cell that's cheap enough to be on a Wal-Mart shelf. And they aren't going to mandate fuel effiency from our fleet.

What chimp_ninja said.

If producing CO2 emissions precludes you from talking about reducing CO2 emissions, they we're all hypocrites and society is well and truly screwed.

I kinda like radiohead, but I love that the new fark-thing is to call them 'crappy.' So I'm here to say "Yeah, they totally suck!"

TribeFan695 2008-06-04 12:45:28 PM
Nickelback Coldplay Weezer Radiohead sucks!

On disc. Live, they sound like an ice cream truck drove into a Gravitron.

Radiohead is ok, but they are definitely way overrated.

So, the backlash continues.

I saw them outside of DC this May. It was an outdoor venue during a monsoon but aside from that an awesome show.

Have you seen them, or just a bunch of muddy youtube videos and bootlegs?

If this is your opinion then you haven't actually seen them.. I saw them a few weeks ago in the Woodlands, and they sounded about as close to the album as could be done live..

Amazing show, tickets for it sold out in 5 minutes..

I admit. I ragged on Radiohead back when it was cool to do so.

I've decided to stop doing it, because everyone ragging on them is so very, very lame. There's too many little Radiohead haters out there, and the vast majority of them are not doing it very well.

I, for one, wish that someone would start approving daily "Super Furry Animals" threads, because that band is infinitely cooler than all the losers who continue to jump on the "Radiohead sucks" bandwagon.

biobot: how can you play poker with six cards in your hand?

It's a variant game called Baseball Up. You play with 9 cards and I'd already played three. We play dealer's choice at our house as Hold Em gets old fast. If you're ever in the US, and specifically on the East Coast you have an open invitation to join the Thursday game.

I saw them live in Tampa...as The Drug IT Guy said, they sound great. Definitely better than I expected. Maybe you saw a different show?

Last and only time Radiohead came to this part of the world was the OK Computer tour, and they were brilliant. Only once have I seen a better live show - Flaming Lips, 2004 I think.

I thought Radiohead were leaders in the field of carbon-neutral rock tours?

Not saying I have the best taste in music, but I've always been underwhelmed by Radiohead.
Liked the song Creep and bought Ok Computer because it was on so many top ten lists. Still trying to figure out why.

If you didn't 'get-it' with OK Computer, just stop trying. Perhaps the best album ever recorded.

That is all.

Just saw them three weeks ago. They played for 2 1/2 hours. Two encores. 24 songs total. Amazing show.

Go to hell subby.

The backlash against Radiohead by the people who think they're overrated is so strong that Radiohead is now underrated again. It's that great big sine wave of acceptance.

I like Radiohead -- I think they're a good band, but I also
like seeing it when self-righteous green warriors are
hopelessly enveloped in giant vortex of their own hypocrisy.
