Random footage of Ringo and George playing in the studio, but neither is on the recording, this was all John and Paul.

The audio playback is also a bit slow compared to the actual single (so the tempo is slightly slower and the song is slightly lower in pitch). Not sure how or why that happened.

Didn't John once say that Ringo wasn't the best drummer in the band?

Just makes me wonder what the format du jour will be by the time Let It Be ever gets reissued (the movie, that is).

He wasn't....that would be Paul IMHO.

/Ringo was competent at least.
//McCartney is an amazing musician...I don't think there is an instrument he can't play well.

I love this song's sense of exasperation when beleaguered John quotes the press that had been hounding him:

The men from the press said
'We wish you success
It's good to have the both of you back'
CHRIST you know it ain't easy

Thanks subby. I miss these days.

That he did. Searching around, it appears he said it in response to an interview question asking if Ringo was the best rock drummer. Considering JL's sharp wit, it wouldn't suprise me if it were a bit tongue in cheek.

As far as Paul being the best drummer in the Beatles, I'd disagree. Paul is an adequate drummer. Ringo has always been a great, but not flashy, drummer.

I can't disagree that McCartney is an amazing musician. He's the reason I took up playing bass.

IIRC, the interviewer just happened to catch John after Ringo told them to fark off and walked out of the studio, saying that he was leaving the band. So Lennon was probably pretty pissed when he said that.

Paul's an ok drummer, but there really isn't any sort of personality or flair to his drumming. Ringo had that in spades.

Never liked Yoko but I do like this song. Oh, and Paul's drumming on this track and Back in the USSR is adequate but he'd never be able to produce the fills on Rain and A Day in the Life.

According to the book, The Beatles Recording Sessions, there's apparently a wonderful little moment between John (on guitar) and Paul (on drums) when John yells out "take it ringo" and paul responds back "allright george" (or it could be reversed I don't remember exactly). A nice little moment between to close friends and musicians before it all hit the fan

And, legend has it that on Lennon's solo work (forget which one) he tells Alan White "Play like Ringo." So, regardless of comments made, he must've appreciated his sound in some circumstances.

An exclamation mark or exclamation point is a punctuation mark: ! It is usually used after an interjection or exclamation to indicate strong feelings or high volume, and generally marks the end of a sentence.

I remember reading how badly he got ripped over his "more popular than Jesus" remark made in 1966. Kind of wonder if it wasn't a reference to that.
