Again.. just like the Coldplay headline from yesterday.. I am not a Coldplay fan, and I'm certainly not a Country fan..

But if you were to make that headline correct, you'd need to add a 1 in front of the 4.. and then add the "million" suffix.

I can't comment on the Zune.. but my friend has one and he mentioned something to me one morning on a drive to a client site that made me say "oh hell, you can't do that? I wouldn't want one now"

Urban and comrades made an EXCELLENT album called "The Ranch" before he went solo and became a star. It's a countryfied version of the Police and it's VERY good.

Keith Urban, isn't he some lame pop star version of Todd Snider?

dmax is right about the CD of Urban's band "The Ranch". I'd have to play it again to see if it's comparable to The Police, but there is some great musicianship on display on that record.

For all his "chick" music, (of which I'm not a fan) I must say that Urban is a dazzling guitar player.

I'm not really a country fan, but credit where credit's due & all that...

Haven't heard that much Coldplay, but what I've heard, I honestly don't mind it.

You know how I know you're gay? You listen to Coldplay.

FitzShivering 2008-06-03 12:07:48 PM
Why is it considered so cool to hate Coldplay? I know the whole "I know you're gay because you listen to Coldplay" made people laugh quite a bit, but they're better than 90% of the crap out there.

Hah. That's an eerie simulpost.

Zune > iPod

With an iPod you get a tiny screen and buttons that don't work if you have large hands. My Zune has no such problems.

(YES, I do own an original XBOX controller. The "Duke", as that's what they're called, IMO is the single greatest controller ever made. Leave me and my non-midgetine hands alone.)

Those 4 people sure have bought an awful lot of their music.

I dunno, the N64 controller was pretty bad ass.

i thought it was a funny headline, regardless of accuracy.

My 2 year old son loves Coldplay.

I caught the Ranch video many moons ago and it caught my attention. Didn't know a thing about Urban for many yrs after, when an album cover finder grabbed another Urban cover by error. He has a solo career? Hmmm...

It's the usual guitar, bass, drums trio, with Urban clearly in the Sting role (but guitar). And he's GOOD. Also, the video (and band?) was produced by Ian Copeland - Stewart's bro. So my initial "hey, it looks like the Police" could've been understood.

They've got no real videos on YouTube but one tune that someone added still pics to.
But it's a great record. Strong smart but down-homey, almost cliched in its heartstrings-pulling, songwriting and some amazing musicianship on tunes like Clutterbilly.

Ok, there are four of us already. Which one of you is the freak who drops millions of dollars on millions of extra copies of each CD?

I always called mine "The Canned Ham".

Don't care about Coldpay or Keith Urban, though the fact that there were Zune adds in the borders when I read the headline made me laugh.
