I think if the pilot made it out, he could've pointed someone to the site of the crash.

Why would someone take a plane out on a lake? You should use a boat on a lake... planes are for the sky.

Climate change is caused by the sun. Fighting it by carbon dieting is as futile amd misguided as stopping terrorism by destabilizing Iraq.

At least now that they've found the plane they can bury the survivors.

Well.. I guess now they stop looking for it.

I love when folks say that they found something "in the last place I looked." Well, I guess it was in the last place you looked, otherwise you'd be looking for something you already found.

/not my thought.. someone else's bit.

Except this year the continental US has been experiencing a climate that is very similar to pre-industrial times.

So, the Indians must have been happy when the white men came, industrialized the place, and got rid of all the tornadoes and the May days of 100+ heat. Thanks for clearing that up.

BUT IT'S NOT REAL!!! 31,000 "scientists" said so.

GoldDude 2008-06-01 10:56:59 PM
If a fisherman found a wheel the day after the crash, ya gotta figure the authorities knew it was in the lake... but the pilot and passengers weren't important enough to warrant the expense of locating the plane just for recovery of remains.
So the plane wasn't really "missing", they just didn't know exactly where it was in the lake until now.

iwannafark 2008-06-01 10:57:38 PM
It's not global warming anymore, it's "climate change" silly subby.

Next month we will be back to global cooling/ice age again. I know it's hard to keep up with the rhetoric, but at least try to follow along with the puppet masters' dictates.

/My dictates funny.

mikesup 2008-06-01 10:59:27 PM
A quick search of the NTSB records shows the aircraft to be a Beechcraft 77, registration N3829D, that crashed in good weather with no witnesses to the accident. Two occupants were killed. RIP

A Beechcraft 77 like was involved.
www.asa-be.com

Also, tomasso there are 6736 lakes in the state of Texas, but only one is natural and is shared with Louisiana. Needless to say, we've kept the Army Corps of Engineers busy building dams for nearly a century.

/Pilot saddened to see an aerial accident.

Nevermind that weather =/ climate

Analogy time:

weather is to a ball game as climate is to a sports season. Even good teams lose games and there will cold weather in an overall pattern of warmer climate.

LOL, yeah, even better is that "OO" is the country prefix for aircraft registered in Belgium. Isn't Belgium always the route the Germans take to France?

thekickassduke 2008-06-01 11:13:41 PM
Well after a little research turn out no.

84Charlie 2008-06-01 11:17:42 PM
There is also a Cessna 182 in that "lake" somewhere, I remember it crashing when I was in high school in Amarillo. That lake is nothing but a dead tree filled canyon and using sonar to see the bottom is pointless. Forget diving, visibility is almost zero as soon as you hit the water, too much silt.

Now Buffalo Lake, that was a good place. Too bad they drained it.

Late every Saturday night there are lots of lakes in Texas, mostly behind bars. And by Monday they've usually dried up.

torquestripe 2008-06-01 11:25:52 PM
NTSB summary says they searched the lake until 2/2/1984 and only found a jacket like the pilot was known to have worn.

You know why the plane crashed, don't you?

THIS.

You'd have to be a moran to think that the warmer temperatures that are melting the ice and raising water levels in one location would also evaporate water in other locations of the world.
