This is TotalFark. It's not a repeat until it gets greenlit. When that does happen, let the suits know by using the notify options at the bottom of the page.

People die all the time sometimes minutes after they do something, why is this so special?

AmericanMensan 2008-06-01 07:39:28 PM
That sucks. My favorite teacher in high school was my health teacher, who I had for one quarter every year. The guy taught life more than the B.S. they put in a textbook, and was one of the most influential educators I ever studied under.

I had him in the first quarter of my senior year. He died of colon cancer a few weeks into the second quarter. Still pisses me off to this day.

They say I'm a mean one, but really I just advocate safe retirement planning and personal financial responsibility in general.

As for that garlic-in-my-soul bit... well, there was a personal flatulence issue, but that was way back in high school, I didn't think anyone would remember.

Don't get excited....they're not going to lower your taxes any, and there still won't be any left when you retire.

I used to say I wated to die like Hemmingway. I didn't remembered how Hemmingway died, so I'd rather go like Edgar Allan Poe.

I hope the school sets up some sort of fund in her name, maybe donate that money to her kids, or even a random college grant type thing.

Didn't Charles Schulz (Peanuts) die very shortly after retirement?

Ah, then I guessed I erred. Never judged a book by its cover, right?.

Hemingway stuck a shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. You want to go that way? I don't think so.

He died the day before his last strip ran in the paper. Talk about timing.

I meant the movie. At one point, Emma Thompson's character talks about writing a book where the main character is a teacher who dies on the day before summer vacation.

Like I said, I'd rather go like Poe (drunk and lying in a ditch).

In fact I don't care how I die, as long as I die happy and knowing I had a satisfying life and that I did little harm to others.

I freaked out for a second there. My favorite HS teacher is retiring this year after 35 years, and we're in the PB Post area. Thank goodness.

Yeah he thought he had cancer. Decided to end his life. Autopsy report, no cancer.

Some people die quietly in their sleep like my grandfather. Others died screaming in terror like the guys riding in the car with him.

Back again with the "you're gay" responses, eh, Col. Fitts? Grow a goddamned brain already, man, no one cares about you attacking someone that has an opinion if you can't provide a valid one yourself. I've already decimated you in past threads; you aren't worth my time now.

Sad story. Reminds me of high school. My freshman English teacher retired after about 26 years right after I had her. She passed away about three days later of colon cancer. I was part of her last class of students.
