Awesome. I love this damn song.
And, of course, Ted has some experience improvising during technical difficulties.

Came in here to say that myself.

Good to see Ted is getting some fans. Always been a big fans of his. Saw him play at the Siren music fest in Coney Island a few years ago and he was awesome.

I first ended up seeing Ted Leo at the Pitchfork Music festival a few years back. Bought his CD on the spot, been a fan ever since. His voice gets on my nerves a little bit if I listen to too much in a short amount of time, but seeing something like this makes me want to go on a binge again.

Never seen it or heard of it. It was in the summer of 02 though.

Just youtubed it though and ya that was it.

/Remember a guy with me who had never heard Ted Leo was angered by him shaking his head like that
//Guy was a douche

It's a pretty interesting little video if you ever find it. I've got a copy of it somewhere around here and it occasionally pops up on some torrent sites, but its usually tough to find.

And that guy does sound like a douche. Over the last couple years I've taken about 10 or so people with varying tastes in music to see him live and they've all loved it. Him and Arcade Fire are probably my two favorite acts to see live; you can't match the energy he puts into each and every show.

I saw Ted Leo yesterday. I don't have anything else to add, I just wanted to feel cool on the internet.

Actually, I'm totally for anything that shows people how awesome he is. Rock on, Ted.

Ya, he was a friend of a friend. Still love that Ted writes music in his mom's basement.

I've seen him at Maxwell's and at Irving Plaza. Both were really good shows. He's a terrific song writer, one of the best going today. I've been a fan of him since Chisel. He's never put out a bad album.

fan for years, haven't seen him yet, that is all.

There are some decent bands in the related videos bar below the player. It almost gives me hope for the future of MTV.

"Check out live performances from Human Giant's live 24 hour marathon to save the show."

Oh, never mind.

/The National is great
//so is Ted Leo.

Saw them open for the Dropkick Murphys on St Patricks day this year, fun fun fun.

El_Freeker 2008-06-01 11:11:06 PM
He just played for free (if you know how to bypass street-fest tents) 2 blocks away from my apartment. Good show; just needed his vocals turned up. Glad to see actual music on MTV that isn't so bland.

when the hell did mtv start covering ted leo?

/where HAVE all the rude boys gone?

Ted Leo FTW

Master of the Flying Guillotine 2008-06-01 11:59:23 PM
Heard "Where Have All the Rude Boys Gone?" back in 2003, played it over and over again, and I've been a fan ever since.

I've seen Ted Leo three times--the most peculiar show was election night 2004 w/ Q & Not U--and will be seeing him again in July.

/his old band Chisel was pretty cool too

This song is awesome. There needs to be more catchy songs written about Anorexia and Bulimia. Or maybe just one great song about Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The first time I saw him was about three days after the election... Which was probably the reason he closed out the show with an especially awesome cover of Suspect Device.

at fun fun fun fest this past year, he covered hybrid moments and then dedicated rappaport's testament to the late lance hahn.

it was pretty awesome.

Now That's What I Call a Taco! 2008-06-02 12:27:33 AM
Awesome.

/I also am a Ted Leo fan, too.

It's like a neo-American, less badass Billy Bragg performance.

The Bing 2008-06-02 04:12:31 AM
Caught him at the el rey and at my friends college all in the same week.

Ted Leo power outage story time! Ted Leo/RX played a show a couple summers ago at The Ottobar in Baltimore when the power went out about halfway through the show. Ted played his cover of Since U Been Gone and one other song inside the venue before the temperature got to be too much to bear and took the show outside until we got kicked out of the street.

I love Ted Leo so so much.

weaklingrecords 2008-06-02 09:33:23 AM
Ted Leo is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Chisel was awesome, but the Pharmacists-era Ted Leo is much, much better.

rutabaga 2008-06-02 12:26:03 PM
Just freaking awesome:

"Copyrights restrict us from playing this video outside the U.S."

Boo.

Were you covered in mud, too?

And did you remember your Dillo Day? Only bits and pieces for me.

Ted Leo is awesome and his cover of Kelly Clarkson's "Since You Been Gone" is actually amazing.

So are TL/Rx broken up now? I liked them a lot in college. Chisel is decent also, but stray away from the Tej Leo record, it's freaking weird.

See him live if you have a chance, good stuff.

Jamdug!: So are TL/Rx broken up now?

Nope, they're opening for Pearl Jam this summer.

So I just found out that Ted Leo is playing a free concert in Toronto next friday for NXNE.

/fark yes

Who is Ted Leo? More importantly, who watches Mtv?

theurge14 2008-06-02 09:26:57 PM
Never heard of him, but I like it. And if that's the kind of thing they're showing on MTV nowdays, well, maybe MTV does have a chance to make things right again. Good stuff, and I agree with the earlier poster who said there's some pretty good stuff on that page.

Ebenator 2008-06-02 11:16:27 PM
Ted Leo is great. If you don't know him, check him out. If you don't check him out, you're a big fat loser

Min5trel [TotalFark] 2008-06-03 02:47:21 AM
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists... check out the album "Shake the Sheets." 'Tis good stuff (he's a bit political, but not as annoying as the big names.) Once again, Billy Bragg is his British alter-ego, if you've ever heard of him.

He is also awesome live (as the clip shows.) I've seen him twice (Detroit and Ann Arbor) and he has a great rapport with the crowd.
