Since it's news he still reaps benefit without coming off as sleazy for having cameras. They don't need a visit. They need legislation and an improved, streamlined process at the VA.

I would venture, as a vet myself, they don't want those cameras anywhere near them.

FAIL, subby.

Probably an outpatient procedure

GaryPDX [TotalFark] 2008-06-01 03:47:58 PM
In fact, I'll go one step further. If I was at Walter Reid and someone stuck a camera in my face?, they'd be pulling it out of their ass.

Axias [TotalFark] 2008-06-01 03:58:12 PM
Too bad he voted against giving the vets some actual benefits.

Where's the fail? I mean, every time a sermon makes the news, it's a racist rant. I'm beginning to think those kinds of things aren't so rare at Obama's church. It's cool, though. I mean, you have to go those kinds of places and lie to people to get elected in some cities. Unfortunately, that kind of thing doesn't play as well to a broader voting base.

Yep.

I don't seem to recall Obama apologizing for his church yesterday either.

Extreme, I'll grant you. But I'm not seeing what's racist or for that matter how the church is "preaching hate."

Those claims are a bunch of bullsh*t.

Brettster808 [TotalFark] 2008-06-01 04:16:28 PM
If only McCain would apologize for the FAIL his party has given this country over the past 8 years of which he played a major supporting role.

McCain in the White House would only mean four more years of Bush.

He won't need to worry about TV cameras following him around after November.

Thank God.

Suit yourself, I guess. But ask yourself this: If a white church were shown praising McCain or Hillary and making fun of Obama, with the preacher carrying on and saying, "Obama thinks he's entitled to be the nominee because he's black" and all the folks in the congregation were cheering and clapping and carrying on, well, wouldn't you think that racist?

whidbey [TotalFark] 2008-06-01 04:27:09 PM
Truthfully, I really don't see your analogy, Nabb.

Where's your exact context on this? Specific examples?

Have you not seen Wright and Pfelger's rants on TV against Hillary? They are clearly racially-driven.

Like I said, I am having a big problem with the comments that the church is "racist" or is "preaching hate."

It's a common talking point with no validity. Now, if you would be so good to show me a specific example of what you're talking about, and prove that statement I'm having problems with, go right ahead.

Well, I find it pretty lame they redlit the two "KILL WHITEY TAPE EXISTS!" thread and greenlit this political posturing run-of-the-mill shiat.

If we're going to set the tab on fire, damn it, let's do it with gasoline, not Nyquil.

Farkers disappoint me when they give Pfleger a pass. After all, he is an evil Catholic priest. Or is it OK when you kiss liberal ass?

*gasp* Are you implying the mods would intentionally greenlight a story with a controversial headline, which will undoubtedly lead to increased site traffic/discussion?

Why would they do such a thing!!

(Then again, there's plenty of candidate bashing going around in threads, everyone has to have their turn sometime)

This tickles me. "Concern troll." That is so typical. Disagreeing with Obama makes you a troll. Disagreeing with Obama without hurling insults is a "concern troll." Rather than debate the merits of the argument, let's attack the speaker. Fun, but intellectually vapid.

The church is racist because everybody keeps saying it is.

Most people just don't understand the role that community churches have always played in black politics, dating back to pretty much the Civil War.

And if they wanted streamlined process they would have pushed through mccains bill, it helped wounded soldiers and rewarded those that re-enlisted but then mccain hates our troops according to obamaniacs.

And yet somehow the Useful Idiots still found out about it and decided to publicize it for him? Hm...

All right. I watched both. And I'm not convinced that the TUCC is either "racist" or that they "preach hatred."

I hear a lot of frustration, and yes, it's uncomfortable to hear some of the things both of them say, but it hardly makes the organization "racist." I'll admit their sermons are "extreme" and that's about it.

My previous call stands to anyone to show me specificially how this church is racist or preaches hatred, because all I've seen so far is a weak group mind at work who have nothing to actually criticize Obama for.

steamingpile 2008-06-01 06:29:24 PM
Donald_McRonald: The church is racist because everybody keeps saying it is.

I think its the kill whitey speeches given there, along with spouting the black myth that whites throw out their votes, unleashed crack on their community, and make sure they never get ahead.

You really need to read more about the church than just hating it cause its a good reason not to trust obama.

Yeah Obama was apologizing for his pastor's remarks, not his damn church.

McCain is a veteran and i am sure alot of the soldiers are republican. So while it was undisputabely kind of him to visit soldiers, I would imagine there was an agenda.

Just because Obama says so doesn't make it true. The fact is, McCain is significantly different from Bush. McCain has a real history of reaching across the aisle in Congress, such as McCain-Feingold. (Faux-bama, of course, has no record of working with anyone, really, as he just hasn't done anything).

Obama is an empty suit who lacks even the basic judgment to be President. He surrounds himself with people who hate America, including his wife. He's a fake. People are finding that out now and it makes the liberal morons who support "the messiah" angry.

I've heard that too many times and it's not working, troll. Expect a lot of disinfranchised Democrats to vote for McCain in November.

nothing any candidate does while campaigning counts for shiat in any meaningful way.

Not sayin' it counts for much once they get elected, either.

Was McCain there to fix the leaky ceilings, or to reclaim some more bonus money from dead soldiers?

/support the troops = farking joke of the decade

skinink 2008-06-01 06:30:44 PM
This is what's wrong with the media. Forget Obama, why aren't the reporters all over the rest of the congregation that still goes to that church? Racists on either side, black or white, should never get a free pass. Especially an entire congregation.

the_chief 2008-06-01 06:31:01 PM
So? Did he regrow anybody's limbs? Did he fix the broken equipment? BFD.

Responding to reports of deplorable conditions at Walter Reed, Illinois Sen. Barak Obama is introducing a bill to set higher standards, require outside inspection of Army hospitals, and let wounded vets cut through the nightmare of paperwork to get needed services, reports CBS News correspondent Bob Fuss.

"The administration has not thought this through," said Obama. "They underestimated the costs and they continue to do so."

My Visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center
Tuesday, April 12, 2005

Last week I took some time out of my Senate schedule to visit Walter Reed Army Medical Center. It was something I'd been meaning to do for awhile, prompted in part by the disabled veterans that I've had the opportunity to meet with in Illinois as well as the conversations that I've had with the families of young men and women who have been killed on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.

you're as naiv as your racist arab candidate.

Naive, for one. And he's not arab (he's half Kenyan). And if you meant Muslim...A, he eats bacon, and B, you're claiming he's racist BECAUSE OF HIS *CHRISTIAN* CHURCH!

I can't help but notice that, judging from the article, he could well have been there for his own medical care.

kgun12: Was this before of after McCain voted against the G.I bill???

He didnt vote against it, the other bill was pushed through by democrats because they knew mccain had another bill that did more for the soldiers according to their served time. But dont mention that in your political double talk obama, that kind of shiat is why you shouldnt trust him and could be why mccain may lose since he doesnt stoop to that kind of shiat.

Obama is still just part of the same old bullshiat but trust him if you want.
