I can't believe anyone would TAKE that bet.

If they lose, they pay 5k, if they win, they collect a gambling debt off the family?

Congrats to that guy. Get some poontang.

I'm not a betting man, but I think I still know more than you do about betting.

The payment was a triumph.

I'm also not a betting man, but I believe most betting parlors (read: ALL) collect the bet beforehand. Thus, they were paid 100 pounds when they took the bet.

Also, it's more than 5,000 pounds of free publicity.

It's already in real money, but in monopoly money it's $9,894.50.

;)

This wasn't some back alley bookie that he was betting through. So, odds are, he put the money up up front.

Well, I guess monopoly money is heavier than I thought ;-)

Let me re-phrase: How much is that in an actual international currency like the euro or usd again?

There's a whole industry around this. They're called viatical settlements and got really popular in the mid 1980s when AIDS got really big.

I wonder if a vampire could collect life insurance? I mean yeah a vampire comes back to life, but technically they have to die first.

Fags are free here, he should check Craigslist.

You should be ashamed to suggest that our US currency is "real money" anymore.

Different identities. Fakes a 'death (death by gunshot, death by choking, death by severe mauling of a mob of gay albino midgets...)' and collects the money via minion/lover/vampire bride/goth groupie vampire wannabe.

That's good too. So if I ever die and become a vampire, when the suspicious insurance investigator recognizes me, I'll just say, "ah3133? You got the wrong guy ..."

Although "Canadian Dollar" is just for bookkeeping purposes, since it's most measured in beaver pelts.

Rude Turnip: There's a whole industry around this. They're called viatical settlements and got really popular in the mid 1980s when AIDS got really big.

look up viatrical settlements in a dictionary or wikipedia. it refers to a settlement on a life insurance policy already in place. you get the part of the settlement before you die. there's no betting involved like in this case.
