I have to question the sanity of ANY Clinton supporter. When you look at her track record from the Watergate days until now, you realize one thing: she will do anything to win.

Just look at what Jerry Zeifman had to say about her after he fired her for her conduct. "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality."

Now look at how she is trying to bend the rules she initially agreed to in order to take the nomination. Sickening.

On the other side, I'm not an Obama nut either. I just can not vote for McCain, and I refuse to vote for Hillary.

I also distrust all politicians. So there's that too.

I like the one that said she was going to vote for McCain if she didn't get her way. When did Hillary supporters devolve into "Do what I want or else?" Just how can you have such a selective memory to forget that Hillary discounted both these states, and her people at the DNC voted unanimously to strip these states of their delegates. These people are, in effect, protesting their own vote.

Can you say Cognitive Dissonance? Do those people even listen to themselves when they talk?

Main Premise of all of these "supporters": Hillary is the best candidate to beat McCain, and it is important for the Democrats to win the Presidency.

So if Hillary does not win the nomination: They will vote for McCain... the Republican... because it is so important for a Democrat to win the Presidency.

Yeah... you know what Harriette Christian, and the rest of the ladies threatening to abandon the party if Hillary does get the nomination, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

We don't need you, we don't want you, and we are not going to entertain your histrionic panic du jour for your vote; good day!

No. Because voting for McCain is a giant middle finger to the Obama supports who took away "their election." It's no less childish than that. And it's pretty much human nature and is done out of spite in thousands of other situations every day.

In the end, they won't end up voting for McCain, but right now, when they're still angry, they'll say it.

I will confidently predict that if Barack Obama is not the Democratic nominee for President, the Democrats will lose the John McCain. Black voters will see this as the ultimate betrayal by the Clintons and the Democratic Party and stay home.

And I think they'd be right to do so. Both major parties have mostly given empty promises and symbolic gestures, at least when they haven't been working directly against African-Americans' interests. The loss of the nomination when it has been, by any reasonable measure, sewn up, will be the final straw. Democrats will lose. Republicans will win. Our country will be screwed for the foreseeable future.

Something about 2:30 AM makes me really cynical.

That's the level of dialog the proles understand. That's not what's really happening. As with everything else political, there's the infantile nonsense they distract Americans with, and there's the professional agenda.

"Anthing to win" IS who supports her.

It's the bastardization of feminism. Taking "Women can do anything" from meaning 'you shouldn't stop a women from being herself' to ANYTHING at ALL a woman wants to do, refusing any constraint, moral, ethical, human... which is just a tool of 'oppression' to keep the wymnz DOWN!

You people need to get your heads around this. The Karl Rove's of the world sit around thinking of how to give people the nudge in the direction of acting like children, to lose their faculties and run around indulging all of their infantile urges. Then they engineer a website, a "movement", an sound bite, a notion that makes people do just that. Nearly everything modern politics is engineered by Edward Bernays natural successors.

God, I can't stand this! Why are her supporters so damn DUMB!? They have no right to vote in the primaries. The parties don't have to even hold the primaries, they could choose the nominee by drawing a name out of a hat. There is no constitutional amendment, no civic duty to vote in the primary.

/Of course, if Obama was behind, I might be singing a different tune. I'll admit that much.

Step One: Hold elections properly so everyone gets to consider every candidate and then vote.

Step Two: ???? (something about chads and dimples probably)

Step Three: Count all votes.

It's frankly disgusting that these people are politicizing what is indeed an unjust breakdown of the system, instead of actually being concerned about why and where it truly broke.

If this is how the Democrats get along with eachother now that Obama is in the driver's seat I wonder how they will be able to get along with the Republicans at all should he be elected president?

cbathrob 2008-06-01 03:01:27 AM
Although there are some thoughtful and intelligent Clinton supporters, her most rabid fans tend to be dumb as rocks. You literally cannot engage them in debate, since their grasp of logic is so tenuous. They appear, as we say in the psych biz, to lack "differentiation"--that is, they have difficulty distinguishing thoughts from feelings. Thus, if they feel it, it must be true. If seeing Obama on TV makes them feel scared and angry, it must be because he is a bad man. The idea that they might be simply projecting these feelings onto him is vigorously rejected. This is, I think, why they always accuse him of being a racist. They project their own racism onto him.

I know I'm oversimplifying this, but not by much.

There aren't enough people outside of the "proletariat" who will be voting to matter what a hidden cabal of power brokers think. The simple fact is there are some very pissed off feminists who are experiencing a batch of rotten grapes. They will not, in the end, vote for the person who most represents everything they stand against. Peoples' anger just isn't that long lasting.
