As I was reading that, I was thinking how ridiculous is it was.
Then I saw this:

private Catholic college

Then it all made sense.

I went to a small private college too. Our college dean tired to pull the same stunt on us at an off campus party we held. the police actually helped us keep him off the property. He was so pissed, but there was not a damned thing he could do about it. It was a private function, and he had absolutely no authority being there without an invite.

Those kids may be seniors, but they are amateurs at throwing parties.

Heh, that was my first thought. Throw the party, and when douchebag shows up, call the cops, who will proceed to drag his sorry ass away.

That would be an instant hit on YouTube.

People have to realize though that if you advertise for a party that will most likely have underage drinking on it that EVERYONE can see it. It always surprises me when people put stuff on facebook for everyone to see and then get pissed off when the people they didn't want to see it, finds it.

However, it is retarded to shut down a college party and give the excuse that it violates some "gender bias" rule. Half of the reason college is there is for kids to party and enjoy themselves. Then again it is a private Catholic school, so who is really surprised?

Krayon 2008-05-31 10:35:07 AM

Women were to wear Victoria's Secret Pink-brand sweats or Abercrombie & Fitch clothing and talk constantly on their cellphones, according to the invitation on the social-networking site Facebook. Guys were to wear turned-up - "popped" - collars, aviator sunglasses and flip-flops. The event was dubbed the "Douchebag" party.

Where's a good tactical clusterbomb strike when you need one

I guess Douchebag is an official gender now at Seattle University.

Completely unsurprising.

if a school administrator had showed up at my place to tell me to cancel a party i was planning, i think i'd be more inclined to politely tell him to shove it than cancel

We had something similar to this in college. The whole point is the make fun of the type of people in thalidomide new and improved's pictures. It was all tongue and cheek and actually pretty funny. Especially when some real life douchebags showed up and didn't understand 60 other people were mocking them. Good times.

We did this ironically in grad school, called it a "college" party.

some corporations have already started enforcing the 'no smoking' rule on their employees even when they're not on company time. And the courts seem to be upholding their 'right' to do so.

Wouldn't be much of a step to force employees to make major changes to their lifestyles. No drinking, no smoking, no drugs. Attend church, become a vegitarian, use solar power, ect ect. We've opened the door to that sort of thing. Don't like it, fine - get another job. Oh, can't find a good job? well gee, that's too bad. Guess you'd better suck it up and do what the corporation says you do. But hey - technically you're still free, right? So I guess that's the important part.

I would be all for the students except for the fact that they attend a Private Catholic College.

If they want to party like a bunch of State Run University students, they should have attended college elsewhere. Otherwise, live by the code and remember WWJD?

If the studends were smart they'd throw him off of private property, and have him jailed if he didn't leave. If he came back repeatedly, it wouldn't be hard to have him jailed for harassment, and stalking.
