Yeah... well saying you're bigger than Jesus... or the Beatles is blasphemy. But saying you're bigger than Oasis?

I think, right now, I'm bigger than Oasis. It's like saying, "my penis is bigger than a lightswitch." Yeah, you and everyone else.

With all due respect to that band I've never heard of, probably for good reason, what the hell happened to that Spice Girl?

Tea and Crumpets?

It's supposed to be bigger than a lightswitch?

Meh, they aren't that great of a band, but they're not horrible.

They get one song on Guitar Hero and it goes straight to their heads...

I predict the riot then Oasis fans, Beatles fans and Jesus fans hear about this

Who cares? The Brit-rock scene has been boring since Blur and Oasis stopped talking shiat in the papers. Fark this new crap.

The "bigger than" stuff couldn't matter less to me, but they're a great band. Worth checking out for those that haven't already.

I think I speak the the majority of the world when I say, "Who the hell are the Kaiser Chiefs?"

CrazyCarl864: the Beatles who say they're bigger than Jesus

No they said they were "bigger than Rod (new window)".

Learn your freekin' history!

Who?

danduran 2008-05-31 05:44:13 PM
Pretty bizarre claim to make, when the Chiefs' last album sold pretty badly compared to their first, and compared to the last Oasis album which sold two or three million...

barneyfifesbullet 2008-05-31 05:48:44 PM
I've noticed that those Brits that claim to be bigger than everyone else disappear faster than everyone else.

I'm familiar with The Beatles, Oasis, and the Kaiser Chiefs, but who is this "Jesus" that you're all talking about? Are they new?

Tui 2008-05-31 08:28:27 PM
SageTemple: Oh my god, I can't believe this.

I see what you did there....

A friend of mine met these guys before they hit it big. She said they were egotistical douchebags.

I think she might be right.

MikoSquiz 2008-05-31 08:58:42 PM
Well, they're better than Oasis, certainly.

But so's a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.

Kaiser Chiefs are jerky post-punk Gang of Four-aping also-rans that came out after The Killers' and Franz Ferdinand's first albums got mainstream radio play. Their new album is actually catchy and halfway decent (particularly first single "Ruby"), but that still doesn't excuse claiming to be bigger than Oasis.

/OASIS??
//Really??
///That's what you're gonna go with?
////Have it your own way, I guess...
//Murder By Death is farking awesome.

I've listened to the Kasier's first album and still can't figure out if I like them or not. They don't make me want to rip my own ears off in frustration, yet it doesn't fill me with the urge to go and see them either.

mavexe 2008-06-02 10:36:32 AM
Are we talking Post-Cross jesus, or Pre-Cross jesus? Big difference.

EchoDork 2008-06-02 03:36:42 PM
Ruby's a pretty good song.

I saw Oasis live on their Wonderwall tour. It was the worst concert I've seen to date. Their last encore was Champaigne Supernova, and they brought folding chairs on stage so they could sit down and "jam" it acoustic. No stage show. No energy. No nothing.

So y'know? I'm going to allow it.
