I am shocked, SHOCKED, to hear these awful, AWFUL lies being told about Hillary Clinton! This county broke the rules by holding its convention on the wrong day, but the residents got to vote. We know what the voters of Colins County, Texas, stand for, but since they broke the rules they shouldn't be allowed to say it officially.

On the other hand, Florida and Minnesota never even got to vote. Just because they wanted to do it a little bit early so they weren't last in line for another election cycle with their votes meaning nothing for another election cycle doesn't mean the DNC should stop their elections altogether! They weren't even given fair warning of the consequences of their actions. That's a completely different situation.

Now I ask you, how fair is that?

2/10 Pretty good, except an adamant Hillary supporter would know its both Florida and Michigan that had their delegates stripped. So while your troll would have accomplished much, your slip up ultimately ruined it.

You still might get some bites though.

Before the trollsters hop in, I would like to note one difference between this and what CNN was reporting Obama did when he first ran for the state Senate: this was an unavoidable breach of a technicality, while using unauthorized signature collectors, for example, should not be.

Also, the massive hypocrisy in yelling COUNT ALL THE VOTES while trying to pull off these shenanigans is precisely the kind of thing that proves Hillary should not be our next president.

That's not the worst part. the worst part is knowing that the true believers (and probably Hillary herself) don't see any contradiction in their behavior. In their eyes, actions like this are entirely justified.

Confabulat [TotalFark] 2008-05-30 02:14:52 AM
You can't possibly consider the Florida & Michigan primaries as fair elections, because Democrats were told their votes wouldn't count beforehand. Therefore many stayed home--I know a few people who normally vote but just laughed it off because it was even more pointless than usual.

And Obama's name wasn't even ON the Michigan ballot.

Hillary agreed to these terms, just like Obama and all the other Democratic candidates did. None of them campaigned in Florida by agreement. If she had a problem with it then, she sure was quiet about it.

Sad to see such a sore loser trying to change the rules after the fact. Well usually, but in Hillary's case, it's pretty funny.

I'm guessing, but I suspect that the DNC will blink and split the delegates from MI and FL between Hillary and Obama. That's a mistake and it tells everyone in the Democrat party that the rules no longer apply....but they'll do it because Hillary won't STFU about it.

Regardless, Hillary is going to stay in the race 'till the convention. She's said as much herself. She absolutely will. not. quit. No matter what.

I'm starting to think she's going to try to destroy the entire Democratic party rather than see Obama take the nomination.

When she finally loses the race and Obama gets the nomination, I think Hillary could have a mental breakdown. She's put so much of her self image into this race that to lose to Obama could be extremely damaging to her mental stability.

I once hard that losing the presidency can be a huge loss to a person. Remember what happened to Gore immediatly after 2000? I believe he grew a beard and gained a boat load of weight.

Then again I also see her and her lawyers contesting the election in Novemember. I picture it turning out like this

Clinton Team: Hi, we're from the Clinton campaign and we would like to contest the presidential election

County Clerk: Alright, on what ground are you contesting it?

Clinton Team: Well the polls showed that she should have won this state hands down

County Clerk: Clinton wasn't on the ballot.

CT: Exactly! Because none of the parties would let her run for them she was unable to get what is rightfully hers. It is a clear violation of the Treason Act 1702.

CC: Isn't that British Law? We don't follow British law

CT: Every law should be counted! You are what is wrong with America and when we take charge it will be fixed!

CC: You need serious help.

As much as I want both MI and FL to have to actually take their lumps like grown-ups, splitting the pledged delegates 50/50 is going to have the same practical affect as leaving them stripped while taking away Clinton's "How dare you not count Florida and Michigan!" talking points.

I'm torn between wanting to see the committee tell Clinton to STFU and STFD, and watching her head explode when she finds out that all those months of careful campaigning, plotting, and palm greasing lead to a statistical 0 in terms of helping her delegate count.

If the comittee backs down and splits the delegates, they're basically telling every future candidate and every party organizaiton in every state that the DNC rules no longer apply.

tell me THAT won't come back to haunt them later on down the road!
