It must be that time of the month again on Fark for the Sex Pistols flame war.

What's surprising about him being thoughtful and coherent? Johnny's been exactly that all the time he's been in the spotlight, sometimes to a frightening degree.

Exhibit A:

He's always been a very refreshing interview, subby. Please try to catch up.

I don't care how coherant it is, he's still a grade A asshole.

kitryne: "I don't care how coherent it is, he's still a grade A asshole."

very very true.

Its really not that suprising that he is coherent and thoughtful. He always seemed very calculating to me, to the point that I can't stand how fake he is.

Why, if it isn't ol' Dummy Dum Dum.

/he said it.

You cant be in a band called "the sex pistols" and not be overly arrogant in your opinions

I embrace his assholism for his discontent has mostly always been justified

that said, most of this stuff is already in his EXCELLENT bio "Rotten"

I've never been a fan of his music, but John Lydon's one hell of an entertaining guy.

FTFA: My mum, she had a tough life. Had us four boys and five miscarriages besides. That was a way of life then. I remember carrying the results of those miscarriages, in a bucket, to flush down the outside lav. Lots of times. Little bits of bodies.

Wow...just, wow.

Anyone who bothers to actually read Lydon's lyrics knows he's coherent and thoughtful. The entire Pistols catalog is filled with some of the best examples of lyrics of any rock band. People might not like their musical stylings but I'd put God Save the Queen, Anarchy in the UK, Bodies and Holidays in the Sun up against anyone's body of work lyrically.

Thank you subby :-)
That was a very interesting read.
Coherent and thoughtful, yes indeed, but also interesting / thought provoking / etc.

I would also like to thank subby. That was damned interesting reading.I was never a huge fan of the Sex Pistols but I always liked the lyrics to the songs I did like. Anarchy in the UK,Holidays in the Sun are good.

Whenever he's in L.A., he goes on Jonesy's show on Indie 103.1. Always great, never disappointing.

For those of you who don't know, Steve Jones, the Sex Pistols lead guitarist; has a radio show in L.A. from 12-2. It's GREAT!!! Internet simulcast....love it!

In other Pistols news, they are performing in Vegas on June 7th.

Kitryne,

JR has been outspoken since Sex Pistols/PIL, and as a fairly even-keeled man myself I remain one of his fans. How many of us get to have a spokesman that's saying exactly what many of us are thinking? If the US Congress were comprised of such folks our country might resemble the Democracy it was originally intended to be instead of the "Nanny State" it's become. At this rate I foresee a "ball tax"; whomever has a pair pays for their own neutering.
