Didn't she say the same thing when Kerry was getting stomped by Bush in '04? Freaking America haters.

Bullshiatter: Well, I was going to vote for Obama...

Do you base all of your important decisions on the whims of celebrities?

sullyman 2008-05-29 10:47:47 AM
Hell I may vote for McCain just to see her finally leave.

You need to put that one at the top of your Netflix queue, STAT.

Streisand said the same thing if Bush was to be re-elected in 04. Sadly, she stayed in the US.

/I hate Streisand
//But love MechaStreisand

Just like she siad about Kerry last time, and the other 100 or so Hollywood superstars who also promised to leave. That cow that was on the view swore whe would leave and she is still in CA living it up.

Nabb1 [TotalFark] 2008-05-29 10:57:56 AM
If she thinks American politics is sleazy, she is in for a rude awakening when she moves to Italy. That's definitely going from the frying pan into the fire.

Oh please oh please oh please, go to Europe, Susan. I'm sure you'll be much happier there.

Well, bye.

I hate when celebrities say they'll move somewhere else if so and so is elected. How big is your ego when you think people will give a shiat if you move to another country? Tim Robbins is probably the only one that will care very much...

/November 4, 2008 will be the longest night of his life....

As a staunch liberal, I say GTFO then. I'll be mad as hell if somehow Obama isn't elected, but I wouldn't just leave. That's the exact opposite way of enacting change. You have to be in the system to affect the system. This "my way or the highway" bullshiat is what we've seen for the past 8 years, and her statement is a reflection of that attitude, whether or not she's aware of it.

That being said:

"I've got a lot of flak from feminists who feel that I should be supporting Hillary Clinton, but I thought the whole point of feminism is that you're not supposed to be defined by gender," she says.

Is right on the money.

Oh, and "Bull Durham" kicks ass.

They're just full of shiat.

Not necessarily America haters. Just liars and publicity whores.

When Alec FAILED to keep his promise and move out, I vowed to never watch another movie with him in the cast. Fortunately, his career is in the toilet, so I have not missed anything.

Will add Susan (searching for significance) Sarandon to the will not watch list.

Pfft. Suit yourself. I'm not going to let politics get in the way of the hotness that is on display in The Hunger.

Really? That is just as dumb as them saying they are going to leave.

It amuses me when people who regularly post their viewpoints anonymously on internet discussion boards become angered by a celebrity expressing an opinion.

It's not anger, it is annoyance.

It's not because they have an opinion or that they express it, It is because they insist that everyone should share their opinion.

It is also because when they see that people don't share their opinion they act like 3 year olds and hold their breath, stomp around and threaten to run away.

See the difference?

That's not a threat.

PowerSlacker 2008-05-29 12:00:23 PM
FTFA: Don't expect to see Susan Sarandon showing off her house for any glossy magazine. The Oscar winner, who combines beauty with brains and political conscience, has far too much going on in her life to care about keeping the New York home she shares with actor Tim Robbins tidy, let alone photogenic.

O RLY?

hej 2008-05-29 12:03:03 PM
Didn't sound like a "threat" to me. She's just saying she would leave. BFD.

Personally I'd be tempted to leave the country too, if I had the means.

TMBGfreak 2008-05-29 12:03:38 PM
Johnny Depp did end up moving to France. That's an overall net loss.

I'm probably leaving, but politics has little to do with it.

Suicidal Writer 2008-05-29 12:03:42 PM
It's pointless to say such things.

1. I'd be shocked if .01% of Americans cared where an actress moves.
2. Going into exile when your life or property is not under threat tends not to go over well. Most Americans can't afford such a move.
3. Having been to a ton of other countries, unless you are wealthy, it's hard to make a place feel like home despite the fact that a number of countries have areas that are imitation-suburbia.

the_colonel 2008-05-29 12:05:10 PM
This just in: Canadians and Italians contribute millions of dollars/Euros to McCain's campaign.
