And the sign said anybody caught trespassin' would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and-a yelled at the house, "Hey! What gives you the right?"
"To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in"
"If God was here he'd tell you to your face, Man, you're some kinda sinner"

I was at the museum media day yesterday. Pretty swank. I hadn't been up there since the shows in '98-99, when it was still farmland and all they did was put up a temporary stage and people sat on the lawn. Back then I got to tell Lou Reed and Pete Townshend where the porta-potties were. Good times.

The museum did a great job cleaning up the old material and now the old performances look and sound tremendous. It's a lot easier to see what the big deal was now that the sound's right. Lots of good stuff if you're a geek about the mechanics of putting on a big concert. Field trip!

Yeah, you could grumble about the place being all slick now, but Sullivan County is pretty much Appalachia and Bethel Woods is the only thing for miles around that isn't an abandoned resort, a boarded-up storefront or a decrepit bungalow colony. The money to build the whole thing came from a local guy who founded Cablevision and sold it in the 90's for three billion bucks, and if that's not doing a solid for your community I don't know what is.
