Oh Danny.
_________

Little Girls

I love little girls they make me feel so good
I love little girls they make me feel so bad
When they're around they make me feel
Like I'm the only guy in town
I love little girls they make me feel so good

They don't care if I'm a one way mirror
They're not frightened by my cold exterior

They don't ask me questions
They don't want to scold me
They don't look for answers
They just want to hold me
Isn't this fun
Isn't this what life's all about
Isn't this a dream come true
Isn't this a nightmare too

(repeat first verse)

They don't care about my inclinations
They're not frightened by my revelations

Uh oh take a second take
Uh oh its a mistake
Uh oh I'm in trouble
Uh oh the little girl was just to little
Too little, too little, too little
Isn't this what life's all about
Isn't this a dream come true
Isn't this a nightmare too . . .

And I don't care what people say
And I don't care what people think
And I don't care how we look walking down the street

Picked up "Best Of Boingo" a while ago and surprisingly this song isn't on it, wtf? It's a classic. Remembered fondly from my college days and KROQ. Happy Birthday, Danny.

Danny Elfman: the cheapest bastard in the history of movie scoring in the history of Hollywood.

/pay some real fees
//layering synth strings with real strings doesn't always work, my man!!!!

Danny Elfman, why does your music always make me think of an orchestra playing under the big circus tent?

From Pee Wee to Beetlejuice to Batman to just about everything else you do....can you try to be a bit different next time, please?

My favorite Oingo Boingo song is still Just Another Day. But this one is pretty good as well.

At the risk of sounding emo, I'm still obsessed with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Thankyou senor Elfman...

I can feel it all around
I can feel it in my bones
My life is on the line
When I'm away from home....

Awesome song.

You didn't want to do it.
You're underprivileged and abused.
Perhaps a little bit confused.

Best o' Boingo was always the weakest of the compilation albums. Boingo Alive (a greatest hits album in the guise of re-recording all the songs) or Anthology are a better choice. I prefer Anthology since it even pulls some tracks from the final album.

I watch the "Farewell" DVD all the time. Since I'm a Texan, I never got to see them. They have always been one of my top-5 bands, and that DVD is the closest I have been able to come to being there. Any band that uses Dia De Los Muertes imagery farking rules in my book.

BTW, talking about Oingo Boingo and his movie scoring career in the same breath is pointless. Start another thread if you want to bash his movie scores. We're here to praise the Boingo!

/maybe? It's just a bad dream and I'll wake up soon
//But I don't think I'll be so lucky. Maybe?

Elevator Man, Violent love, and Cinderella Undercover my favs. Saw them in Santa Monica 1 time and wished I could have seen them more.

One of the few bright spots in an otherwise shiatty decade. I was fortunate enough to see Bingo several times (charmed to grow up in Santa Cruz). I can't tell you how many because there was a lot of acid involved. A lot of acid indeed.

I do remember one time a friend of mine and I stalked his hotel after a show and I bought him a snapple in the lobby.

"Only a Lad" is still the only song that makes me want to get up and dance.

Happy Birthday, Danny.

Yeah - I'm sure you've experienced the "bum's rush" that are his sessions, right?

"We need 5 guys to sound like 50. I'm gonna charge for 50, pocket the rest, and get the session guys in and out in 1 hour."

but charges a shiatload. Got himself priced out of 7th guest and our movie. (no idea if our producer bunch talked to Elfman but once they got wind of fees, that served as an easier ticket for me :)

also Walt, Drummer, if you are both session, EIP, I think. will need studio time. Be prepared for the following genres: Ink Spots, ambient, Mozart, techno/country crossover, classical, bluegrass/haunted house with Cuban vocal callbacks, Aaron Spelling schlock, children's show, numbers stations. Sessions for later this year or next year sometime; nothing scheduled as of yet. Keep in touch.
