Whamdangler: AH LEAH, which you will listen to and say "damn, I remember that song!"

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

And there you have it, the high point of Pittsburgh musical contributions to rock and roll.

Thanks subby as I'm now at the 93QFM Rock Stage at Summerfest some 20ish years ago. My lawn, remove thyself. Unless you're bringing beer.

Have seen him in concert many times. Great each and every time. He was better than the headline act each time.

Spent three hours drinking and talking with him in a bar one night. Talk about a good guy. I think he owns a real estate firm in Beaver Falls now.

When I first started downloading music "Ah Leah" and "Love Is Like A Rock" were among my first targets. Donnie is the man.

/never liked "The Rapper" though

Ok... the AH LEAH video has to have the highest "worst video"/"great song" ratio in history. Aside from the fact that it looks like he's coming onto a MILF that could be his mom.

Yes, America, Donnie Iris really *is* the best Pittsburgh can come up with.

Kinda sad, ain't it?

Rickenbacker 2008-05-27 11:08:41 AM
Maybe Donnie can help you buy a house with your own lawn to stay on?

Saw Donnie open for Ted Nugent back around '81. "Ah, Leah' was definitely the highlight of his set.

It could have been a LOT worse. It could have been Hootie and the Blowfish.

Iris>Blowfish

Nah, Donnie was so farkin' good, everyone else realized that it was a futile effort to try.

/I do miss me some Affordable Floors and The Clarks, though...

That "millennium collection" doesnt contain their best song: Injured in the game of love". LOOK IT UP !!

Well, let's not forget Don Caballero, Hurl, Cretia Bourzia, etc. (heck, even Rusted Root). Gotta represent (although I moved away years ago... *sniff*)

/The CSI: Pittsburgh where Donnie Iris rocked the guy to death is an absolute classic.

Holy crap, that really is him. Bet the music career is going better, and that's not because his music career is so great right now.

awesome!~

Donnie Iris is my second cousin...it always trips me out when he comes up randomly and this is the second time this week it's happened.

/"AH, LEAH" rules all....

How come ALL the great bands seem to miss The Bigtime (ala Cheap Trick), and we get crap like..... well, scan the dial today? :-(
