That's actually pretty funny.

How much schadenfreude am I allowed here? I dunno, I can imagine quite a bit.

I don't think I'll be truly happy until Karl Rove gets caught smuggling painkillers in Arizona and ends up in one of Sheriff Arpaio's jails wearing a pink jumpsuit.

Reactron [TotalFark] 2008-05-25 05:46:54 PM
After eight years, you can't call it 'new' anymore. These are smart people - they know things like that. They've all moved on to newer new projects.

How will we win in Iraq without them to lead us?

Party Boy [TotalFark] 2008-05-25 08:28:21 PM
What does it say about the new American Century itself, particularly in light of the slew of recent books on the decline of American power and the end of unipolarity? A coincidence or an augury?

Indeed.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2008-05-25 08:48:08 PM
The got a visit from the Trilateral commission and told to play ball or else MJ-12 would get 'em.

DistendedPendulusFrenulum 2008-05-25 09:12:53 PM
While we are on the topic, whatever became of the vaunted Bush Doctrine

?

Weaver95: Trilateral commission and told to play ball or else MJ-12 would get 'em.

Its sad, but (without googling) I don't even know what these things are. I guess this is a joke or something. I never see these guys in the news or designing foreign policy, so i guess thats some type of hyperbole.

POAC [TotalFark] 2008-05-25 09:42:39 PM
They hadn't been answering their phone for about 6 months. Rumor has it that their office in the American Enterprise Institute building has been vacant for about a year.

Beats me. But you can rest assured they haven't retired to their beach homes.

I guess the New American Century lasted about 11 years. Way to go neocons.

They're various groups which supposedly rule the world. Think "Illuminati."

That's longer than the Thousand Year Reich lasted, so at least they have that going for them.

Don't worry, the effect of their farkups will be felt for years to come.

/And they'll blame "the libs" for them, too.

The phrase "Bush Doctrine" is just so packed full of fail.

I_Love_Cheesecake 2008-05-25 10:32:18 PM
Well, perhaps this is because they've accomplished their mission: create a Pearl Harbour-like attack (9/11), invade the Muslim world (Iraq and Afghanistan), gain greater control of oil supplies and increase Israel's standing in the Middle East.

/perhaps

whidbey [TotalFark] 2008-05-25 10:35:19 PM
N-no.

They CAN'T.

They PROMISED US A NEW CENTURY!!!!!

MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY!!!!!

Jacobin 2008-05-25 10:39:52 PM
That was some project there, fellas.

Do us a favor and don't try your Plan B.

The Jewish league of reverse vampires forgot to pay the hosting bill.

No big deal, though. The website is being reworked anyway to prepare Americans for the bombing of Iran and subsequent invasion of Canada.

It will be up again soon.

This is sad, it takes away something to laugh at certain people for... You could always find the moonbats by waiting for somebody to bring up New American Century as if it were something to be taken seriously.

Near as I can tell, the housing association is run by a Templar/freemason cabal that's pretending to be a bunch of new age golden dawn/free love hippy types. But that's just a front so that they could infiltrate the UN.

I'm fairly sure the golf pro is an illuminated zen master of the 10th degree tho. I think he just likes the atmosphere or something.

It should be noted that Fukuyama broke with the movement and went "realist"

Article: From exile to redemption to exile again: a history of the "militaristic idealists" known as neocons.

They're a smart bunch to be sure. Neo-Conservatism works on the principal of cognitive dissonance.

A group of Militaristic-Elite-Academic-Effete-Socialists managed to demonize their opposition as Elite-Academic-Effete-Socialists.

farkityfarker 2008-05-25 11:12:23 PM
I guess that PNAC finally realized, at long last, that they were showing the world the true motives for the war in Iraq, as opposed to the propoganda spouted by the Bush administration.

I'm surprised they didn't pull it 5 years ago.

Yeah, in all reality they had nothing to do with the last 8 years of our foreign policy. That our foreign policy mimicked their stated goals was an obvious coincidence.

/feelin mooonbatty!

lexslamman 2008-05-25 11:12:48 PM
Neoconservatism took the worst elements of liberalism and conservatism and combined them to form a big bucket of fail - their only success was the unification of both liberals and conservatives in distaste of their ideas and viewpoints. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

thisispete [TotalFark] 2008-05-25 11:14:00 PM
Hey POAC how's the campaign going? I'd donate, but I'm a foreigner.

21-7-b 2008-05-25 11:17:14 PM
they're busy re-inventing themselves, trying to make themselves respectable again. they haven't gone away, and while they may not control the executive in the same way as they did five years ago, the fact that they have demonstrated that they are able to wield real control will attract greater numbers of other power-hungry groups to them

obviously many of them are very intelligent people. unfortunately, some of them seem not to be. however, i think a real worry is that they have a very real, effective and indisputable history of being able to manipulate intelligence and media networks to further their own ideological goals. i can't see them voluntarily stopping
