You can change the headline all you want admins, I know it originally said collest. I've never really believed Rush fans to be overburdened with an abundance of schooling.

The first time I've seen this video outside of a Rush concert. Thanks, subby.

/going to see them live in July

I'm looking at my father's day tickets to the show right now clifton. It'll be my 24th time seeing them. Check out the new Live Snakes and Arrows disk if you can. Fantastic.

24th time?

I'll stay off your lawn, mister.

This will be my fourth time.

The only tolerable song on Test for Echo.

I know they're Canadian, but I love them anyway.

My first three shows were in '86 (Signals). I wound up seeing them in Providence, New York and I think Hartford. I was 13 and the youngest brother of two huge Rush fans. Since then not a tour has come by that I haven't gone at least three or four times. I miss counted my ticket stubs however and this will be 23. My bad.

I've seen 'em about ten times, but unfortunately can't go this year. Bummer.

Okay, I know I'm gonna be called 'that guy' and roundly denounced in this thread, but there is absolutely NOTHING in that video (the video itself, the singing, the guitar, the drums) that appealed to me. It's as if they could read my mind and took every single aspect of music that I love and spit back the polar opposite. I have never had so violent a reaction against any single piece of music as I just had against that video right there. I'm going to go kick a puppy in frustration now. Thanks.

huge rush fan. agree, this is the best song on the album. also agree that this video is pretty lame. but in my opinion rush has always had pretty lame videos.

Distant Early Warning was the worst. Even bad for Rush.Link (new window)

That's some nice bass work at 1:38 there, Geddy.

I didn't like Test for Echo too much when it came out, but I got back into it a few months ago and found I like it now. Like a lot of Rush it takes some time to appreciate.

Still, Snakes & Arrows is their best work since Presto, IMPO.

I never got into S&A. I thought Vapor Trails was much better

On the first leg of the T4E tour, they used clips of the "modern" cars and highways from Design for Dreaming.

Here's a youtube of it. It's the MST3K version, which is about the only way it's tolerable.

Am I the only one who thinks that sounds like a toned down version of Tool

Luckybastard - As far as being "that guy" in this thread it's not a big deal. Rush threads always have a team of "those guys." Having said that, why bother posting on this thread? I think The Smiths and Depeche Mode are farking garbage but I don't take time out of my day to tell their fans how much they suck (this moment notwithstanding). So thanks for your input and don't kick puppies.

you're trolling, aren't you?

Eh, not a bad song, not really all that impressive of a video.

I just saw Rush last night [for free]. They haven't been to my town since 1982. Great seats too... one section up from the floor, to the left of the stage... great view... could see everything.]
I arrived a tiny bit late, so they were already three songs in... [but supposedly they started 10 mins before the ticket said].
it started off good, then just got better and better... until it was FREAKIN' AWESOME!! they were FREAKIN' TIGHT. great playing, all three of them...
they did great versions of "subdivisions", two parts of "2112", etc.
the crowd went wild for the late 70's / early 80's ones...
the only ones i didn't like as much were the newer songs... tho the songs from "snakes and arrows" were pretty darn good... i just might pick that one up.....

[i HATED "vapour trails", tho...]
i don't own a Rush studio album after Power Windows.
tho i have listened to Presto, roll the bones, and counterparts.
presto sucked, roll the bones was good, counterparts was surprisingly grungy/rockin'... good stuff.

p.s. the concert videos [i missed one in the begginning, tho] were great... really funny... Geddy's not a bad actor...

p.p.s i'm gonna have to watch linked video from subby on youtube... this link didnt' work for me..

1977. Farewell to Kings tour. Xanadu and big chunks of 2112. Max Webster opened, UFO with Michael Schenker came on second.

My lawn welcomes bare feet (and naked wimmins).

I would visit your lawn to pay homage to your concert history.

I like to keep threads balanced.

As they get older and better, they get more complex and less obvious.

15/16 signature, triple-tracked bass in the breakdown. Farking amazing.

Rush videos blow.

The concert videos are usually kewl, but the ones on teevee absolutely suck.

Show #22 was Las Vegas this month, #23 was supposed to be Red Rocks, but I can't make it, so #23 will be the tour closer in Atlanta in July.

Still, Rush videos blow.
