FTFA: a larger reception was $1,000, or $2,300 with a lapel pin.

China is making a fortune selling those damn things.

75,000..."not enough tickets sold." Oh, hopefully we're able to keep this up until November.

FTFA's comments:

osage: Wait........isn't Mr. McCain an ARIZONA Senator?! Smaller houses my arse. They were so embarassed that so few people bought tickets, they had to come up with a "story" that was basically unverifiable. It's really, really pathetic that Mr. McCain has to claim to be holding the equivalent of "Tupperware" parties to solicit campaign funds so that the press doesn't have to report that even in ARIZONA voters won't show up for him or for the worst president in U.S. history. Let's see how many future public fund raisiers the much beloved George W. Bush headlines for Mr. McCain. That this happened in ARIZONA is extremely forboding for Mr. McCain and the Republican Party. And it's pretty funny too.

They had Cheney down at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach, Florida a couple of weeks ago to stump for neocon congressman Jeff Miller (who took over when Joe Scarborough resigned in 2001 due to a scandal).

They charged $2,500 to eat with Cheney, and there were less than 10 people who paid. Cheney managed not to tie up traffic in town this time, he stayed on the AFB the entire time.

Remove all Republicans: Well, there's ten people I hope the Democratic administration renditions out of this country and tortures until they grow some brains.

Indeed, those poor, poor terrorists... How can anyone sleep at night knowing that captured al-Qaeda operatives somewhere are cold, annoyed, or scared.

It is my hope Bush will someday soon be forced to live out the rest of his natural life in a small, barbed-wire "free speech zone" far from anybody important.

'President Bush is scaling back next week's fundraising swings for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at the request of the campaign, which wants the events closed to the press, POLITICO has learned.'

FLFTFA

Yes. Be very secretive & hide from the media.

That's worked well for Bushco, hasn't it?

You're basically the devil on the shoulder of most of us, IMO. Although you give a target for people to point and say "See, no hate like liberal hate!" you also occasionally express what I think is actually the proper amount of anger and outrage. That calling for the president to be tried for war crimes is seen as absolutely crazy in this nation is a shame.

I would agree with you if it was the year 2000. It isn't. The Democrats didn't regularly support a criminal administration for 8 years. Remove all Republicans may go too far, but as it is "All democrats good, all republicans bad" is closer to the truth than "All republicans good, all democrats bad." Anyone who doesn't see this is either delusional or doesn't really like the whole "humanitarian" thing.

All generalizations are wrong, no matter how close to the actual state of reality they may be. Therefore, it is intellectually dishonest to use them.

You're missing the point. Sure, there may be more disingenuous individuals on the (R) side of the aisle, but (R) does not automatically equal "corrupt asshole" any more than (D) equals "savior of the country". Or vice versa. The country would be a much more intelligent place if people understood and implemented that axiom.

Endless Quagmires.
Crippled Fema.
Wiretapping.
Record setting national debt.
Torture.
Defunded international organizations that provide abortions or abortion counseling to poor women.
Flip-flops stance on CO2 emissions.
Kept the arsenic levels in drinking water high.

Do I really need to summon a Wall of Text?

You're still missing the point. I'm not defending either side, so stop trying to make do so. I'm merely saying don't throw out the baby with the bath water when you see a letter that is the opposite of the party of whose constituency you are a part of. Why is this hard??

It's unfortunately necessary. McCain can't change the fact that the US populace is too starry-eyed for feelgood concerns that don't do anything to keep us safe and free. He'll do what he has to do, I guess.

I have never ever said anything bad about Barack Obama aside from a few key policy issues where I disagree with him. I have always maintained that he is a very intelligent and well-reasoned democrat.

When I do say "bad things" about democrats on Fark, I keep it policy-centric. The people I say "bad things" to are farkers feeding into demagoguery and sloppy political rationale, or who just come here to badmouth the Republicans or argue half-wittedly about the Iraq war.

Likewise, I am heavily critical of Kos and Crooks and Liars since the root of their existence is not to clarify the world of politics, but to continue to muddy the waters of discourse and mislead their readers.

Additionally, whenever I am challenged on my positions, I make an attempt to substantiate them which often results in the pages of discourse seen here in the comments section. I don't just fly into a thread and say "OMFG libs suck!" I attack and challenge their positions on the issue. Some of our dimmer colleagues seem to think that any kind of a disagreement with their dogma constitutes an unwarranted assault.

You failed to answer his question. Instead of pointing out a good thing you've ever said about democrats, you say, "I've never said anything bad about..." Which is exactly what I meant with my earlier comment, because I've never seen you laud a Democrat for doing something right. You call them out on all the bad decisions they make and largely or completely ignore the good ones (at least on this forum, I don't know about your real life), and Remove all Republicans does the same, only with the shoe on the other foot. Frankly, it gets a little tiring to see such partisan asshattery all the time.
