This is going to be easiest election for a Republican in a long time (since 88, where Dukakis was even up by double digits a few weeks before the election). McCain doesn't even have to put in effort. The Democrats have done the job for him. It's amazing to watch. Democrats still believe they have a chance to win.

Not only am I guaranteeing a McCain win. I'm guaranteeing that it will be by at least 5%. I'm also guaranteeing that not a single 2004 red state will go blue.

Hilary could have pulled it off, but the Dems blew it.

I have no idea what color the sky is in your world, but I'm glad I don't live there. This race may be no cakewalk but Obama's definitely got a good shot.

Hillary? She hasn't had a chance since before Pennsylvania and would have been trounced in the general election.

Yes, the incompetent campaign with money problems and high-level infighting that managed to blow one of the biggest leads ever in name recognition and connections to power is the group that is more fit to win in November. Riiiiiiight.

I would say you're nuts, except I just spoke with two people - normal, otherwise-sane people, parents with kids in the same school as mine. They both went on a tear about how Obama is secretly a muslim, and he also goes to a church (presumably, one of those muslim churches?) with a pastor who advocated killing white people. They have been told this, repeatedly, and it is a sacred truth to them.

The fear of black people is *very* real, and with marginally-educated suburbanites, it would be a mistake to discount such a visceral emotion completely.

A party that can convince voters who have a negative financial net worth that an inheritance tax on estates over $2,000,000 is going to affect them, is damn savvy and is going to keep beating the drum every week to reinfoce that message.

I wouldn't be so sure this time around if I were you. It is highly unlikely that McCain would beat Obama. The only real question left in this primary season is this: Is Hillary Clinton arrogant and spiteful enough to destroy the Democratic Party rather than see Obama take the white house?

I don't know the answer to that question, but she might bitter and hateful enough to try it.

This is a common view in America. For some reason, the Obamaites seem to be oblivious to it just as the McGovernites were oblivious in 1972. Maybe Obama supporters are just wild-eyed optimists who ignore history. I like Obama. He is one of my favorite politicians, but this guy has zero chance of being elected.

FTA: "There's some people who have been saying for months that this is over -- and every time they say it the voters come back and say, "Oooh no it's not, we're not ready for it to be over,'" she (Clinton) said.

So Clinton isn't ready for it to be over. She isn't willing to admit she has lost the nomination or more to the point that Obama has won the nomination. Well... no real surprise there. It has to suck pretty bad to want something that much and to lose like she did, only hanging on in states where bigotry is a dominant factor in how people vote... and only hanging on since she can't realistically win the nomination by any metric.

Hillary might be staying in the race for two possible reasons:

1. she wants to recoup her financial losses. once she gets that $11 million back, she'll quit the race.

2. she's waiting to see if she can steal the election via back room deals and committee decisions. hence the wait 'till may 31st.

Just a thought. take it for what you will.

Thing about the "lightning bolt" (or "bombshell" as you put it) theory of her staying in is that she doesn't have to actually stay in to benefit from some huge scandal. Both pledged- and superdelegates can change their affiliation at any time - they are not locked in. So if it turns out that Obama is uncovered as the mastermind of an international child-prostitution cartel after Hillary concedes, the delegates can still switch their votes to her (or Edwards or Kucinich, etc.), so she doesn't need to be "in the race" to benefit if Obama stumbles between now and the Convention.

"And you know all those people on TV who keep telling you and everybody else that this race is over and I should just be graceful and say 'Oh, it's over,' even though I've won more votes," she said. "Those are all people who have a job. Those are all people who have health care. Those are all people who can afford to send their kids to college. Those are all people who can pay whatever is charged at the gas pump. They're not the people I'm running to be a champion for."

"That particular deck chair would look great on the port side," Clinton said during an interview with the Titanic Star-Herald. "It'll give a great view of the [delusional failure of a Democratic candidate] sunset."

She's only in it so as not to embarrass Obama through Kentucky (a 40 point loss to an opponent who already left the race is downright pathetic). She might wait til the end of the month just to see if there is even a chance for the superdelegates but I really don't foresee her carrying on the race til the convention.

JESUS god. fark is so full of blind bats like randomjsa and suicidal writer these days, it literally makes me sick to my stomach.

even if they are just trolling, do they not realize that the very fabric of our country has been torn and burned and stomped on for the last 7 years, as a byproduct of pandering and bending to the will of for-profit corporations?

show some respect, and try not to make a mockery of the only process that can save our once great country.

it's scary because a lot of people actually believe the ridiculous things guys like them (suicidal writer, randomjsa) say. please, go take an economics class. please, go take a political science class. please, go read one or all of the geneva conventions. please, go listen to what hamas says when they say they would rather have obama elected.

please, go read mccain from 2000 and compare him with mccain 2008. PLEASE, err on the side of hope, because obama is the BEST chance we have. if you "like" him so much, and if he's really "one of your favorite politicians" (a form of oxymoron?), why all the bullshiat comments about him?

he really is the BEST thing we have going, and the best thing we have had in a LONG time. why be the cynic? at this point, we have nothing to lose. after bush/cheney/rove's neocon corporate oil-fueled agenda, there's nowhere to go but up, but i'd rather see a complete overhaul than incremental changes from mccain, all while he continues to play damaging lip service to his allies of the old neocon guard.

2/10. An effective troll has to have some element of truth to it. This week marked the official start of the general election and Obama has already wiped the floor with McCain and Bush. Wait a couple of weeks for Rev. Wright to bubble back to the surface and then try this line again.
