I think the show is stupid, but the song is kinda neat.

I grew up with these guys; I remember them from the playground in elementary school. I competed with them (and lost) on curved scales in calc and diff-E classes in HS. They lived down the hall from me and were my roommates in college. They are my tribe.

The reasons that this show makes me laugh my ass off are the same reasons I read Fark. Fark is populated with many clones of "Sheldon", "Leonard", "Wolowitz" and "Koothrappali". I have the social dysfunction just not the brains...

Be sure to watch the pilot and at the very least, "The Big Bran Hypothesis". Sheldon can't stand the mess in the neighbors' apartment and 'breaks in' overnight to sort and organize. (Sheldon has arranged their breakfast cereal numerically by fiber content, thus the name of that episode.)

"The Luminous Fish Effect" is hilarious because we meet Sheldon's mother, a hard core religious new earther. Plus, the idea of using luminous fish as a nightlight is brilliant.

What hits home for me is that my friends and I actually talk that way. Plus the stuff written on the board in the background is real and funny.

It was amusing to watch the episode where they have the trivia contest and we actually were able to get some of the answers.

Thanks Subby. I really like the song now, having heard the complete version. I never cared for it before because I only heard the first part from the show.

The show is good. Sheldon's character alone could carry the whole thing.

It's a little bit more complex than just entropy. The theory of the Big Rip(^) was postulated in 2003, so it's pretty recent.
