You would think they'd give it to someone they could trust not to spy on them.

Guess not.

1 billion dollars?

I could do it with 20 people, taclanes and all for under 30 million. (i could do it all for under 1 million.. but i gotta screw DHS).

Any politician who can dismantle the DHS should be paid their budget for a year.

Consider this project is estimated to cost 1 billion dollars, I think it deserves a "What could possibly go wrong?"

Wait? What? Another secure Internet??? That makes (I think) four of them, and that's not counting anything that might require a security clearance to know about.

Why exactly do we need another?

The real question is, after completion, how long does it take a thirteen year old with a couple of tools he found off a script-kiddy website to break into it and steal all the information?

WoodyHayes [TotalFark] 2008-05-16 09:19:10 PM
Hehe, I wonder if Qwest even tried for this one.

ProdigalSigh 2008-05-16 09:27:50 PM
Umm... why would you hire two competing mega-telecommunications companies for a network consolidation project?

Few years ago. You're out of the loop and doomed to death by the robot/zombie hordes.

He already did. Mitnick is now working on hacker-proofing the site.

I lived a couple streets away from Robert Hanssen and walked my dog at Foxstone Park (where he was caught by the FBI) frequently.

His family still lives at the house on Talisman Dr in Vienna.

Ok admins this thread failed try a new one! Try one that calls democrats cowards or republicans fearmongers, that'll get the ad revs skyrocketing!

If my experiences with Verizon are anything to go on, DHS would be better off using the payphone down at the gas station. I'd be stunned if they even get a dialtone after the inevitable $250 million overrun.

It's good to know that when you illegally spy for the government and help them cover it up they'll get you back with a huge contract.

Gubberment: "OK, whew, thank christ we got those turrists!!1ONE!"

That should have read MPAA/RIAA/GUBBERMENT, as well as a lot of other folks.

/Notice Qwest got no part of the contract.

I love sharing a name with one of the worst spies in recent history... (Differently spelled however)

mediaho 2008-05-17 02:25:37 AM
I am shocked ... shocked that Qwest didn't get the contract.

Joseph Nacchio unavailable for comment.

AT&T and Verizon -- two companies that illegally sold out their customers to the U.S. Government. I have zero faith that they won't sell out the U.S. Government to bin Laden if the price is right.

This was mainly funny because of all the "ONE"s at the end of each exclamation. I always chuckle at that joke.
