Frankly, I don't see how an SNL appearance could get me to vote for him. That said, I wouldn't want to wear a dress on TV either.

I'm not going to piss of my mother like that. Thats right, I listen to my momma.

I don't really want to see Mccain in a dress - thanks anyways.

Well, the media does, and they take SNL's criticism of its political coverage SERIOUSLY. See - "should we ask Barack if he needs another pillow?" for more information, or go to your local library.

FTA: "I think Senator Obama has done a very good job with young voters; we have to do a good job as well," McCain said, referring to the leading Democratic presidential contender, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

It's a good thing they specified that it was Senator BARACK Obama, not the other Senator Obama.

KO makes plenty of elderly/senile jokes, "Old Man Yells at Cloud" included, I'm sure he can squeeze it in between Grampa Simpson Quote #854 and "Senator Dole...oops, Senator McCain..."

To all the candidates:

Stop. Stop trying to pretend you're "one of us". You're not an actor. You're not a bowler. You're not a comedian. I don't want to have a beer with you. I don't want you to placate me with promises of "hope". I want you to give me substantive reasons why you are the best person to lead this country. I understand WHY you do it. Idiots vote on superficial reasons and it's damn near impossible to win a presidential election without carrying the idiot vote (due to their numbers). All I'm saying is, it's not going to help you win MY vote.

sp86 2008-05-16 08:35:03 PM
FTA: McCain has already targeted young voters by participating in a televised youth townhall meeting, as well as a popular campaign blog being written by his daughter Meghan. The 23-year-old is on the campaign trail with two girlfriends who take pictures and shoot video.

I thought Cheney was the one with the gay daughter.

:)

So what are you saying, that no one in Middle America would vote for Obama? (I guess you missed the primaries...) Or that people who vote for McCain are only voting for him because he's an old white man? I hope it's both, because then I can call you a double idiot.

Unfortunately, this could be rephrased "Stop doing what will help you get elected, and start doing what I want, which will hurt your chances at election, but endear you to... well... me."

A lot of us feel the same way, but it's a little silly to expect this kind of paean to be heard.
