Considering the write in is the campaign of last resort, I'd say this clinches her loss of the democratic nod.

Its over.

Good luck with that. Most electronic voting machines have no option for a write-in.

/absentee ballots do.

I am sure President McCain will appreciate the support.

The Democratic party needs to tell these nutbars to fark off, much the way the Republican party has done to a segment of its base by nominating McCain. Is anyone at Hillaryis44 really going to vote for McCain? Really? At worst, they'll stay home, and I think Obama energizes enough voters outside that base to compensate for their loss.

Once Obama brings up Republican views on some key women's rights, Clinton's constituents will be voting against McCain.

Sorry, that's just what I believe.

this has got to be a classic case of republican "ratfarking." even the most deranged hillaryite has to see that this can only help the GOP in november.

I think a few of them will. Some of them seriously believe Obama is a fundamentalist black christian muslim hell bent on destroying America and McCain will be "safer" for America. Then there are the others who want McCain elected because if Obama is elected then Hillary's next chance at the presidency is in 2016, not 2012.

I am convinced that whoever is masterminding this site is a GOP hack, and that they only give posting privileges to the select few nutjobs who will post this kind of garbage.

Although I disagree with your premise about deranged hillaryites. Look at the group in Ohio that has publicly announced that they will oppose Obama in the general, basically because they're pissed.

Quite frankly, this is the most moronic idea I've ever heard. Instead of unifying behind the party-backed candidate, you're proposing sabotaging the election so that we can live through four more years of Bush. This is a horrible idea, and one that no right-thinking Democrat should ever consider. The principles and ideals that we share are what should drive our choice of candidate, not our evaluation of the individuals. Even if you don't care for Obama personally, you should acknowledge - with your vote - that he represents the best chance for putting an end to Republican control of the White House in '08, and a write-in for Clinton would be the political equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot.

Give it up.

That site links to "Liberal Rapture". Here's a gem with regard to that ATLAH nuttery:

This man is over the top and goes too far. But Lord, he is on fire. It is worth noting that the Black Community is not ALL on board the "long legged freak" train. I do not like much of his tone and insults. But he tells the truth about Bill Clinton and, by God, I appreciate it. The most despicable aspect of Barack and Michelle Obama's corrupt campaign is the defaming of the Clintons.

Who is going to fund an independent Hillary run? Her democratic supporters can't even support her now. When labor unions and womens group's all rally around Obama, she is going to lose most of her already dwindling support. Call me naive, but I don't think she can count on her base of old, poor, uneducated racists to support a realistic 3rd party campaign. Hell, I'm not even sure she could be a spoiler. Nevermind the fact that she herself knows she would have no chance of winning, nor being a future nominee or, hell, even a member of the democratic party.

No, she will either try to sabotage Obama covertly and run in 2012, or take some runner-up prize such as VP, senate leader or governor of NY (Heaven have mercy on those people.) That's how power-hungry, calculating persons would play it.

people are allowed to throw their votes away if they want to...

what the Hillarists need to realize, though, is that if Obama loses the General in a squeaker, it's going to be perceived as Clinton's fault and she'll never even get close to being a national candidate again. not to mention that the Clintons have already lost a good chunk of the black vote no matter what... and without that a Democrat isn't going near the White House.

Hillary is smart enough to know if she launches a third party or write-in campaign- or if people write her in of their own volition as we see here- and McCain wins, and she draws enough votes to change the outcome, her political career is over. She will be given the vast majority of the blame, and she will never be forgiven. She will have no chance of mounting a serious campaign in 2012 or any other year. She will have no chance of claiming the New York governorship in 2010 or any other year. She will find herself in a heated- and possibly losing- battle for her Senate seat in 2012. And when she leaves Washington, she'll be relegated to Loserville along with George McGovern, Walter Mondale, Ralph Nader, Michael Dukakis, Alan Keyes and their ilk.

That is what happens to Hillary if she winds up the subject of a write-in campaign and McCain wins a close one. And she will do ANYTHING to avoid that fate. She wants to avoid that fate even more than she wants to be President.

I hope they do it. Write-in that pandering fool.

Take all of the poor, disgruntled, hapless dolts and racists that the GOP has farked over repeatedly since 1988. They would not have voted for Obama anyway; they would have voted for McCain had they been able to tear themselves away from Rush Limbaugh's Comedy Hour.

To support Obama is to support more than the Democratic brand name. To support Obama is to want to help all Americans; everyone, everywhere. To support Obama is to look at America as one place, one people, and to understand that we are all in this together.

Don't want to be a part of that? Then STFU, GTFO and GBTW.

I agree. I should clarify that by "sabotage" I mean a lukewarn endorsement and no attempt at unifying their respective support bases behind Obama. I certainly don't think Hillary is stupid, but part of me thinks she would rather see a McCain victory in '08 and another crack at the presidency in '12 than anything else. (Assuming she can't pull off the nomination this year--which I am, because she can't.)

Also, it takes a particularly sad road to get the the Loserville inhabited by Alan Keyes.

I'd love to try and sit down with one of these people who post on Hillaryis44 and see if they really are as illogical as they seem. Obama is waiting until the end of May to really start the national campaign out of both respect for Hillary and to basically ensure that no matter what happens with MI and FL he's still the nominee.

I also don't understand the women that see any vote for Obama as being sexist. Even if there are certain people who voted based on sex there are far more who would vote against Obama based on race.

Obama will really need Hillary to give a couple speeches trying to convince these people that this isn't some conspiracy. She needs to explain that Obama ran a better race and won more delegates and he has many of the same policies that she would have brought to the WH.
