i liked the judge on dan abrams show that basically said "if congress does not act on this, we no longer have three branches of government."

Just as long as they wait to throw him in jail long enough for Bush to leave office so he won't get a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card.

If they charge him with inherent contempt like they're talking about, Bush can't do a damned thing about it. The House Sargeant at Arms will arrest Rove and he'll be taken to the floor, where he'll either have to testify or be jailed until he does. Neither the executive or judicial branch have any control over the process.

Occam's Chainsaw: Call me radical, but if not a single Bush administration insider does any prison time, we've failed as a nation.

The Bush administration is proof of our failure as a nation, the lack of accountability signals a subservience to that failure.
We are not avoiding an accident, we are taking the keys away.

That's some mighty fine faux-tough posturing from Conyers. He probably balled his hands into tiny fists of rage and shook them in the air. If we could only get the Democrats this mad at bin-Laden...

We're not even doing that. We're waiting until the wreck finally lurches to a halt and the drunk at the wheel gets out and totters off. Then we're going to call somebody else to come in, see if they can fix the car, and try to do something about the dead bodies the drunk left in his wake.

Trust me, the above statement was scaled back significantly from my full thoughts on the subject. I'd just like to avoid an excessive number of NSA red flags.

If he doesn't, said Conyers, "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."

Gee, 8 years of bullshiat and they're just getting around to getting these assholes to at least stand still and spout off a bunch of lies.

What the fark? This government is the most pathetic display of limp-dicked cocksuckers I've ever seen.

Jimborg 2008-05-16 02:03:33 AM
Not be the prophet of doom and gloom, but what happens if Rove shows up and claims the fifth?

Not only that, do they have any evidence that hes committed a crime? He's done slimy and unethical things, on that no one disputes, but I don't think any of actual laws hes broken.

Of course, if any of you super-awesome farkers prove me wrong and whip up a rap sheet, I won't complain (hint, hint).

Occam's Chainsaw:
I think we are coming of age.
Old politics continues to crash the car, hoping to make it 'un-fixable' proving they crested reality or humanity or some other screwed vision.
I think we've moved on, and I'm not talking about the youth. The new guard is ready to take up the reigns, everything about politics and representative society has got to come along. (insert no threat)

For better or worse, there is someone new at the wheel.
For better or worse, there is someone new at the wheel.

Everyone can biatch and moan, but the new guard is inevitable.

Conyers said the committee wants Rove to testify about his role in the imprisonment of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, among other things.

"We want him for so many things, it's hard to keep track," Conyers said.

The whole article is 4 paragraphs long. You could at least read it before asking silly questions.
Or are you the type that needs live footage of him snorting coke of a dead hooker before you condemn him?

lol, no I would welcome any excuse to have a go at Rove, I just want to have my information straight before I begin being vocally indignant about something, or else I end up looking like Kevin James one thread down.

Okay so we have Sieglman, and IIRC he was also involved in Plame-gate. So thats two.

That scent in the air is hope. It's a strange, heady sort of smell, that makes you wonder at the possibilities, the things life could be. Hope is not a new thing, but it has been gone from our lives for such lengths of time that it is impossible not to stop and take it in, for too often have to we had it ripped away from us. Forgive us poor simple folk for our distraction but there is something in the air, and it calls us to take heed, for great things are afoot and we shall be a part of them.

/The articles we've had lately have made me feel weirdly poetic

The failure of both parties to work together towards compromise and to maintain professional respect for one another without the use of 'information leaks' as political weapons, is the sign that our political system is failing. Look past 'Republican' and 'Liberal', the problem is much larger. You're only focusing on what they kick up to keep you busy.

Bringing up Bin Laden is NOT a strong point for the Bush administration bucko.
