And John McCain skipped right over the cliff with Bush in saying "Yeah yeah, me too!" Good job, Guy Whose Only Chance of Winning Hinges on Being Different from Bush.

Even I'm surprised by the level of stupidity of Bush this time

And I think he needs help tying his shoes.

ndotseth 2008-05-15 06:13:21 PM
That's totally not fair. The Democrats will appease ANYONE.

jake_lex [TotalFark] 2008-05-15 06:17:09 PM
This paragraph from TFA absolutely nails it:

Whether or not Dubya's history lesson was, indeed, "malarkey," the Dems are smart to treat it like a big, shiny gift from Santa Claus. As the New Republic's Christopher Orr puts it, "Bush attacking Obama, and Obama counter-attacking Bush, while John McCain sits on the sidelines, is a disastrous dynamic for the GOP. The more Obama can frame this race as him vs. the most unpopular president in modern history, the easier a time he'll have in the fall." Before, Obama had to tie McCain to Bush--often a reach, seeing the Arizona senator has broken with the administration on issues like global warming and even Iraq strategy--to accomplish this task. But now that Bush has entered the ring himself, Obama can finally fight the opponent he's been itching to fight all along.

And Dubya is too farking arrogant to STFU. He's obsessed with everyone saying he was right after all.

This is going to be fun.

Its funny cause its tru...ly gonna be hilarious when it becomes painfully obvious this November how the dumbfarks you've supported the last 8 years completely destroyed your party.

Sorry Johnny, you've got a long 5 months ahead of you after the Democrats wrap it up. Good luck once the media puts an end to your nap time!

"What did he DO!" ranks right up there with "THERE'S NO MORE MONEY TOMORROW!" for me personally.

Heh McCain said today that Reagan never negotiated with Iran.
Joe Lieberman needs to whisper in his ear again. Remind him of Ollie North and the Guns for Hostages deal they worked out behind everyone's backs.

SilentStrider [TotalFark] 2008-05-15 06:57:14 PM
Negotiations with others never work. Thats why we had that nuclear war in 1962 after the Soviets put missiles in Cuba.

"So let us begin anew - remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate."

Not a big fan of Matthews, A+ to Matthews for slicing and dicing that moron as he should've been.

i'm guessing that after that piss-poor performance, hannity will strip him of his blowhard merit badge and we won't be seeing him on any national shows for a while.

He'll probably get a promotion for not admitting he was wrong and still arguing even when Matthews ended the segment.

it was textbook wingnut:

spouting talking points without any actual knowledge to back them up? check.
shouting to cover up lack of said knowledge and to prevent rejoinder? check.
refusing to admit you've been totally pwned on national television? check.

You forgot shouting over the other people as they were talking. Also a check.

It must be embarrassing to be a televised wingnut sometimes. Well, it would be if they understood reality in any sense.

If I were up for trolling tonight, I'd say something about how Teh Jooooos were the root cause of both situations. And this time Israel is the one building the prison walls.

That usually sets off the flames quite nicely.

stevecody: This is the same Bush who said Japan has "always" been a friend to the USA.

This is actually one of the gaffs he as made that I will chuckle at and call an honest mistake. His original quote was something like, "Japan and the United States have enjoyed a century and a half of peace..."

I'm actually giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I'm pretty sure he meant to say, "Japan and the United States have enjoyed half a century of peace..." and his brain's (heh) speech center did it's usually thing and crossed a few wires.

Mind you, I am not defending him. I think he's an asshole, and seeing justice served would be air-dropping him into the center of Iraq with nothing but a canteen and a pocket knife on 20 Jan. 2009. However, this little gaff I think actually was an honest mistake... perhaps one of the very few he has made.
